Fengliang town

Fengliang Town, subordinate to Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the central and western part of Fengshun County, connecting Pantian town in the East, Beidou town in the south, Jianqiao town and Xingning City in the west, Longgang Town and Meixian District of Meizhou City in the north. It is one of the "four ancient towns" of Meizhou City, the key town in China, the central town in Guangdong Province. Fengliang town has a total area of 249.61 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 22 administrative villages and 1 community. In 2017, the total number of permanent residents was 87900, of which 63800 were registered residence.

In 2018, the total social output value of Fengliang town reached 678 million yuan, an increase of 10% over 2017. Among them, the total output value of agriculture was 365 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%; the total output value of industry was 211 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9%; the total output value of service industry was 102 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%; the per capita net income of rural residents was 12073 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

Historical evolution

In 1738, Fengshun County was established in Fengliang town.

In 1965, Fengliang town belonged to Meixian area.

In December 1983, the people's commune system was abolished, and the original Huangxi commune and Bingying forest farm were merged into Fengliang people's commune to establish Fengliang district.

In 1988, Fengliang town belonged to Meizhou city.

In September 2003, Fengliang and Xiandong were merged into Fengliang town.

There are abundant high-quality kaolin resources in the town, and the prospecting reserves are more than 80 million tons.

Red Culture

During the revolutionary war, Li Fengxiang, Deng Zilong and other revolutionary predecessors had bred the red revolution in Fengliang. Jiulongzhang, Fengliang Town, is the earliest revolutionary base in eastern Guangdong. Marshals Zhu De, Chen Yi, Lin Biao, Luo Ronghuan, Nie Rongzhen and so on all engaged in revolutionary activities here.
