Nantou Street
Nantou street, belonging to Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle and west of Nanshan District, on the East Bank of the Pearl River Estuary and in the northwest of Nantou peninsula. It is the seat of Nanshan District Party committee and district government, as well as the political, economic and business center of the whole district. Its total area is 13.25 square kilometers. As of 2017, the number of residents in Nantou streets was 240 thousand and 200, of which 121 thousand and 600 were registered residence. As of June 2020, it has 12 communities under its jurisdiction.
In 2017, there were 11840 industrial, commercial, individual and corporate enterprises in Nantou sub district.
Historical evolution
In the Qing Dynasty, Nantou area was under the jurisdiction of Dian Shi Guan in Xin'an County, including Sha, Xinjie, Sijie, Zijie, Shiqiaotou, Yijia (now named Yijia), chongzhenli, Fuyuan Village (now named Fuyuan Street), Fuqing Village (now named Fulin), Tianxia village, Guankou, Yongxia, dashigu, Lanwei Village (now named changxingwei), etc.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Jiujie Town, Shiyue town and Yijia Township in the first district of Bao'an county. After the merger of district and township, it belongs to Shiyue town and Jiujie town in the first district; later it belongs to Nantou town in the first district.
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Nantou town and Liancheng Township, the first district of Bao'an county.
In October 1949, when the people's Republic of China was founded, it belonged to Liancheng, Shiyue and Nanping people's Union Township of Bao'an county.
In 1951, it belonged to Daxin Township and Nantou township of the first district.
In July 1953, Shekou township was added, belonging to Daxin Township, Nantou Township and Shekou township of the Fifth District.
In March 1958, it belonged to Nantou Township and Shekou township. In September this year, it belongs to Nantou production management area of Chaoying people's commune.
In July 1961, it belonged to Nantou group, Dachong group and Daxin group of Nantou commune in Nantou district.
In 1970, the Daxin brigade of Shekou commune was under the jurisdiction of Nantou commune, and a new Weizhen brigade was set up, which belongs to Nantou, Dachong, Weizhen and Daxin regiments of Nantou commune.
In January 1979, it belonged to Nantou commune, Nantou District, Shenzhen.
In August 1981, it belonged to Nantou commune of Luohu District.
On October 17, 1983, Daxin office was set up in Nantou District of Shenzhen city.
In September 1990, Nanshan District was established, and Daxin office was renamed Daxin street, subordinate to Nanshan District.
On February 5, 1991, Daxin street was renamed Nantou street. In February of that year, Dachong village was assigned to the newly established Yuehai street.
In September 2001, Maling neighborhood committee was assigned to Yuehai street.

Nantou street is located in the Midwest of Nanshan District and the northwest of Nantou peninsula. It starts from Nanhai Avenue in the East and connects with Xili and Yuehai streets. It is adjacent to Qianhai Bay in the West and "second line" pass. Nantou checkpoint is adjacent to Xin'an street in Bao'an District. Xuefu Road in the south connects with Qianhai seaside and Nanshan street. Guangshen Expressway in the north connects with Xili street. It covers an area of 13.25 square kilometers.

Economics
When the people's Republic of China was founded in October 1949, Nantou residents mainly engaged in agriculture, oyster farming, fishing and litchi planting. There were about 333 hectares of cultivated land, including 180 hectares of paddy fields, 153 hectares of dry land and more than 12000 litchi trees. In 1976, there were 345 hectares of cultivated land, including 183 hectares of paddy fields, 162 hectares of early farmland and 100 hectares of oyster fields. The total income of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery was 872800 yuan, of which 56.9% was from agriculture, 2.7% from animal husbandry, 6.7% from oyster and fishery, and 33.7% from fruit trees and other industries.
In 1980, after the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Hongfa Plastic Factory, the first Hong Kong funded enterprise, was introduced, mainly engaged in plastic flowers, lighting, toys, etc. Subsequently, the number of enterprises increased and began to change from the primary industry to the secondary industry. In 1984, a large area of land was expropriated for municipal construction and development of commercial, industrial and real estate projects. Throughout the year, 267 hectares (including Dachong Village) of paddy fields, land, mountains and beaches were expropriated, and the transformation from agriculture to industry accelerated. In 1987, 20 factories were built, covering an area of 46370 square meters, with a total investment of 9.775 million yuan. A batch of large-scale projects such as electronic group company were introduced, with the payment of 17 million Hong Kong dollars, and the fixed assets of the enterprise increased to 25.65 million yuan. At the same time, we will tap the agricultural potential, including 15 hectares of sea reclamation, 9 hectares of fish ponds, more than 30 hectares of hanging oysters and intensive oyster cultivation, 39000 lychees and 115000 pineapples. In this year, the total output value of industry and agriculture was 2012 million yuan, including 14.25 million yuan of industrial output value, accounting for 70.8%; 5.87 million yuan of agricultural output value, accounting for 29.2%.
In 1992, the reform of rural urbanization was carried out, and the shareholding system of three village run enterprises was reformed. Nantoucheng, Tianxia, Daxin and other joint-stock (cooperative) companies were established. The original villagers became shareholders of the joint-stock (cooperative) companies. In this year, 12 projects were introduced, with mainland investment of 8.2 million yuan and Hong Kong and foreign investment of 63.13 million Hong Kong dollars and 525000 US dollars. The total industrial and agricultural output value of the whole street is 123.9 million yuan, including 116.6 million yuan of industrial output value, accounting for 94.1% of the total output value, and 7.3 million yuan of agricultural output value, accounting for 5.9% of the total output value. After 1993, due to the needs of the new Pingnan railway, Mawan Power Plant and Mawan port, all the oyster fields of Daxin Co., Ltd. were expropriated. The history of oyster cultivation in the area under the jurisdiction ended, and the oyster farmers who got the compensation either changed their careers or went to Zhanjiang and Yangjiang to raise oysters in other places.
In 2002, the total industrial output value of Nanshan street was 460 million yuan, and the commodity sales value was 270 million yuan. In 2003, Nantou sub district achieved a total industrial output value of 1 billion yuan (territorial Statistics), export output value of 670 million yuan, and commercial sales value of 270 million yuan.

When the people's Republic of China was founded in October 1949, Nantou district had more than 900 students in Baoan No.1 Primary School (now nantoucheng primary school), Nantou primary school (now Nantou Primary School of Nanshan experimental school) and Baoan No.1 junior middle school (now Nantou middle school).
In 1985, the first kindergarten, the organ kindergarten, was established with 22 classes.
In 1987, Lixiang middle school was founded with a campus area of 3.56 square meters and a building area of 15800 square meters.
In 1990, Daxin kindergarten was founded, and each village committee and enterprise company raised 140000 yuan to use as educational fund for schools and kindergartens.
In 1993, the street raised 1.8 million yuan, and nantoucheng neighborhood committee donated 2000 square meters of land to establish nantoucheng kindergarten. The next year, it was completed: raising 150000 yuan, supporting the expansion of Daxin kindergarten, and raising more than 200000 yuan of education fund to solve the problem of teachers' welfare.
