Majiawu town is located in the southeast of Renqiu City, 10 kilometers away from the urban area, with an area of 72.3 square kilometers. It governs 24 administrative villages with a population of 37903 (2017). In the region, Jinbao road runs through the East and West, and Dahe road runs through the north and south. Origin of village name
Majiawu: the village was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. The surname Ma moved here because the ancient Yanghe River passed through the village. There are often ships repairing and berthing here, so it is called Majiawu. The village is divided into three groups.
Yin village: it was built in the early Ming Dynasty. It was originally a manor named Hu, but later it was abandoned. Some people evaded the war and settled here, originally named "Yin village", later changed to Yin village.
Liu Jiabo: the village was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. There was low-lying water in the village. The Buliu family settled here and fished for a living. They named it Liu Jiabo after their surname. Tangdi passes through the village.
Yujiazhuang: it was built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. This is the manor of a landlord. A man surnamed Meng moved here, so his name is mengjiazhuang. Tangdi surrounds the northwest of the village.
Beimazhuang: the village was built in the early Ming Dynasty. This is the land of a landlord in beiliulu Village (Hejian City). It was once named Mazhuang because of the first residence of Ma. Because Nanmazhuang was newly built in the south of the village, it was renamed Beimazhuang. The village lies on the Guyang River to the north.
Qijiabo: the village was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. There is low-lying water in this area. The Qi family settled here and fished for a living. They got their name from their surname, qijiapo. The village lies to the east by Tangdi.
Liucun: it was built in the late Sui Dynasty. When the Tang dyke was built in the Tang Dynasty, it was supposed to pass through the village. After negotiation, it passed around the village until the village was not destroyed, so it was named Liucun. Tangdi bypasses the west of the village.
Beilangzhuang: it was built in the second year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1404 AD). A family surnamed Lang moved from wangjiawu to Jiancun. It was named langjiazhuang after its surname. In 1961, it was divided into two villages. Because the village lived in the north, it was named beilangzhuang. To the west of the village lies the Guyang river.
Nanmazhuang: the village was built in the early Ming Dynasty. It was originally the land of a landlord in nanshezhan (Hejian City). The first man surnamed Ma lived here. Because the village was built in the south of Beimazhuang village, it was named Nanmazhuang.
Xinlizhuang: the village was built in the late Qing Dynasty. It was a manor named Tian. Later, it became a small village, named xinlizhuang. Later, it was renamed xinlizhuang.
Dongchenzhuang: the village was built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. A family surnamed Chen came here to build the village from Yanlun fort, so it was named Chenzhuang. In December 1981, Chashi, a famous local general, changed his name to dongchenzhuang.
Nanchangzhi: according to the Royal genealogy, during the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty, the second ancestor of the royal family was originally appointed as daningwei of Baoding Prefecture, and was stationed in Baili village, 25 Li East of Renqiu City. There is a South farm in the village, where people from all walks of life often pay their wages. Later, the South farm became a village, which is called nanchangzhi. The origin of Changzhi village comes from the evolution of sound.
Beichang branch: built in Yongle years of Ming Dynasty. Zhaojialou, Hongdong City, Shanxi Province, immigrated here. Because the village was located in the north of Nanchang Branch, it was named Beichang branch.
Nanluzhuang: built in Ming Dynasty. Because of the migration from nanxiaozheng to Jiancun, it was named nanluzhuang.
Guozhuang: the village was built in the Ming Dynasty. Therefore, the land was originally a Chuang Tzu of the Guo family in Renqiu, so it was named Guozhuang.
Dajizhuang: it was built in 1416, the 13th year of Yongle in Mingzhou. Most of the prisoners had the surname of Ji, so they were named dajizhuang.
Xiaojizhuang: it was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. A branch of Jianzhuang was moved from dajizhuang, so it was named xiaojizhuang.
Yanggezhuang: built in Ming Dynasty. Two surnames Zhang and Yang came to settle here one after another, named Yang ganzhang, and changed their name to tochigezhuang in the Qing Dynasty. The south of the village is close to Jinbao highway, and the East Main Canal flows through the south of the village.
Wufang Village: the village was built in the Ming Dynasty. In 1404 A.D., the second year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, Liu family, the owner of Hongdong city in Shanxi Province, built the village here. When it was fashionable to recognize five housing bases, it was named Wufang village, which was later homonymous as Wufang village.
Wu Haozhuang: the village was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. Because the surname Wu was very rich, it was named Wu Haozhuang. The village is located in the northeast of the township, 2 kilometers away, north of Jinbao highway. The main canal in the east of the city flows through the north of the village.
