History of construction
In the Western Zhou Dynasty, laosengtang town was located in jiaoguo, a vassal state of Lu.
Before 1949, it belonged to the Tenth District of Wenshang County.
After 1949, it belongs to Nanwang County of Pingyuan province.
In 1953, Pingyuan province and Nanwang county were abolished at the same time, and the area was designated as Jiaxiang County.
In September 1958, it was incorporated into rocket commune.
In December 1958, Jiaxiang County was abolished and transferred to Liangbaosi commune of yuncheng county.
In 1962, Jiaxiang County was restored and laosengtang commune was established.
In 1968, it was renamed Dongfeng commune.
In 1981, it was renamed laosengtang commune.
In 1984, it was changed into laosengtang township.
