Longting Township

Longting township is located in the south of Xunwu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is connected with Luofu Town, Xingning City, Guangdong Province. It is 50km away from Xunwu County and 62km away from Xingning City, Guangdong Province. It is another shortcut for Jiangxi Province to go south to the developed areas in Guangdong Province. It has four administrative villages, 42 villager groups and 6579 permanent residents (2017)

Longting township is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The highest point is yangtianzhang, with an altitude of 1017 meters. The lowest point is Douyan village, with an altitude of 180 meters. Xunwu river flows into Guangdong from north to south. The rest are mountainous areas. Longting township is one of the old revolutionary bases. Datian, Longting and Xihu have been listed as key poverty alleviation villages in the old areas. From 1928 to 1930, the 21st column of the Red Army, headed by Comrade Cooper, had been engaged in guerrilla warfare for three years in yangtianzhang, West Lake.

Historical evolution

Longting township was established in 1950, Longting commune was established in 1961, Cenfeng commune was incorporated in 1964, and Longting township was restored in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 73.8 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs six administrative villages, namely Lantian, Longting, Datian, Longtan, Douyan and Xihu. The township government is located in Longting village.

The second hydropower station in China and the first hydropower station in the whole province is located in Douyan village in Longting township. The unique terrain also contains rich small hydropower resources, which is very conducive to the cascade development of small hydropower stations. Eight hydropower stations have been developed in Longting township The impact type small hydropower station, with an installed capacity of 4890 kW, is called "the hometown of Small Hydropower" by hydropower experts. Rich soil, warm and humid climate, it is very suitable for the growth of Camellia oleifera, tea and navel orange. The Camellia oleifera produced in Longting Township contains a variety of nutrients and has the function of health care. It can be used to detoxify, reduce blood pressure and nourish capacity. Longting tea oil, with bright color, fragrant smell and long-term flavor, has been sold to Guangdong and Fujian, and won the favor of consumers. Its products are in short supply. As early as the 1960s, the advanced representatives of Camellia oleifera production were received by the great leader Chairman Mao. Longting is also known as the "hometown of Camellia oleifera". At present, the whole township has an area of more than 110000 mu of Camellia oleifera forest, with a total output of more than 100000 tons. In addition, yangtianxiang tea, which is famous for its natural and pollution-free nature, has repeatedly won provincial and municipal gold awards, and its products are in short supply.

The bidding for s458 reconstruction project of diaoshenpai in Longting Township, Jiangxi Province and Guangdong Province has been completed, and the construction of s458 secondary highway project will start soon. At that time, another highway out of Guangdong will be added to Longting township.

The characteristic industry of the township is Camellia oleifera and tea. The territory is rich in small hydropower resources. There are eight small hydropower stations, including Douyan Datian, tiechishui and Longtan, with a total installed capacity of 39500 km. The mineral resources are relatively poor. The main proven minerals are uranium and fluorite.

Longting township is the main production area of Camellia oleifera, known as the "hometown of Camellia oleifera". It produces 125000 kg of Camellia oleifera annually with an annual output value of 10 million yuan. It is the main economic source of the masses. Founded in Yangtian tea farm in 1998, it produces natural and pollution-free "Yangtian fragrant tea". In 2006, it won the "Gold Award of Gannan famous tea competition", "Longting" brand trademark was named Ganzhou famous trademark in 2008, Jiangxi famous trademark in 2010, China famous brand in 2011, and "China famous tea" Gold Award of China (Shanghai) International Tea Expo in 2012.
