Xiyuan Township
Xiyuan township is located in the northeast of Jianning County, 36 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over nine village committees, namely Xiyuan, Tongrong, dutuan, Dongxi, daling, niankeng, Jiangfang, Shangping and Chuwei. It borders on Taining in the southeast, fengmenjie in the west, Qianxi in the south, Shaowu City and Lichuan in Jiangxi Province in the north. The terrain is high in the East and West. It is the alpine mountain area of Jianning county and the birthplace of "Ming bamboo shoots".
In 2017, the administrative area of Xiyuan township was 14300 hectares, with 5895 permanent residents.

In October 1972, Xiyuan was separated from Huangfang commune and established Xiyuan people's commune, which has jurisdiction over 9 production teams and 82 production teams, with a total of 65 natural villages. Xiyuan is a national ecological Township, with a forested area of 187900 Mu and a forest coverage rate of 88.21%. It has the shuangminshi peak at an altitude of 1582.9 meters. It is the main scenic spot of minjiangyuan National Forest Park in Jianning county. At the same time, it also has the East Ocean alpine wetland known as the kidney of the earth.

The total area of Phyllostachys pubescens Forest in the township is 100000 mu, accounting for one third of the county. The processing technology of Ming bamboo shoots has been listed in the third batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage list of Sanming City, and has been awarded the "top ten Phyllostachys pubescens township" by Sanming City.

Xiyuan is the main bamboo production area in Jianning, known as "the hometown of bamboo shoots in Ming Dynasty". There are more than 74000 mu of Moso bamboo forest, 20000 mu of high-yield and high-yield forest, 30000 mu of general yield forest and 20000 mu of low-yield forest in the township. After 1986, the township party committee and government gave full play to the advantages of resources and encouraged investors inside and outside the county to carry out deep processing of bamboo shoots. In 1987, Qingshui bamboo shoots cannery was established for the first time. Before 1988, Ming bamboo shoots were purchased by the county supply and marketing cooperatives. After 1989, Ming bamboo shoots developed by leaps and bounds, and the output increased year by year. In 1990, Dongxi villagers bought the first bamboo shoot cutting machine, which changed the traditional method of single production of Fujian dried bamboo shoots, and processed a series of dried bamboo shoots. The main products are smoked bamboo shoots, submerged bamboo shoots, caviar bamboo shoots, bamboo shoot clothes cake, snack dried bamboo shoots, etc. The products are exported to Fujian, Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other provinces and cities.
In 1993 and 1995, Xiyuan bamboo technology extension station and bamboo industry management station were established respectively to take charge of the management and technology promotion of bamboo shoots and bamboos in the township. The value of each bamboo increased from 5 yuan to more than 13 yuan. By 2005, the township has an annual output of more than 3.5 million jin of Ming bamboo shoots, and has more than 50 dried bamboo shoots series processing enterprises. The series products mainly include first-class bamboo shoots, second-class bamboo shoots, long phoenix tail, short phoenix tail, small phoenix tail, Guangdong bamboo shoots, bamboo shoot Festival, bamboo shoot clothing, and some kinds of bamboo shoots and small Phoenix Tail packaging products. The annual total output is more than 250 tons, and the total output value has increased from 11 million yuan in 1990 to 21.2 million yuan in 2005. Xiyuan township has twice been awarded the title of "top ten bamboo villages" by Sanming City, and dutuan village and niankeng village were respectively awarded the title of "top ten bamboo villages" by Sanming City in 1999-2000 and 2002-2003.
In 1989, the enterprise was reorganized into five companies, including supply and marketing company, local specialty company, construction company, timber company and bamboo union company, with an output value of 5 million yuan. In 1992, the enterprise office was renamed Xiyuan Township Economic Committee. In 1994, there were floor strip factory, square material processing factory, Dongxi wooden stack processing factory, Chuwei bamboo fragrant core factory, Jiangfang bamboo fan factory, bamboo floor strip factory and other township enterprises in the township. The annual output value of the enterprises reached 10 million yuan, and the tax profit was 1 million yuan that year. In 1998, in gexizhou, Dongxi, we successively established Xiangxin factory, bamboo chopsticks factory, bamboo plywood embryo factory, bamboo mat factory and bamboo plywood embryo factory. By 2005, there were nine small and medium-sized canned bamboo shoots factories in the township, with an annual output of 2500 tons, an annual output value of more than 20 million yuan and an annual profit and tax of 4.5 million yuan. There are three bamboo products factories with a total output value of more than 2.6 million yuan. In 2005, the total industrial output value of the township was 45.28 million yuan, more than 20 times that of 1988.
In 2017, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery increased by 5% to 35500 yuan, the investment in fixed assets increased by 28% to 640 million yuan, the output value of scale enterprises increased by 21% to 850 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers increased by 12% to 16166 yuan, and the income of township finance reached 3.58 million yuan.

In 2005, there were eight hydropower stations in the township, with an annual generating capacity of 8 million kWh and an annual sales of 4 million kwh. In 1997, it passed the provincial "two bases" standard acceptance. In 1998, due to the decrease in the number of students, the township merged four teaching spots. In 1999, five more teaching sites were merged. In January 2004, it passed the provincial "popularization experimental county" standard acceptance. In September 2004, the school district was restructured, changing the original "Xiyuan school district" into "Xiyuan Central Primary School". In 2004, there was one central primary school, eight village primary schools, 44 teaching classes and 597 students in the township. There are three sixth grade graduating classes with 87 students. Before 1988, Xiyuan middle school and the school district were merged. In 1988, the people's Government of Xiyuan Township invested more than 90000 yuan to build a new teaching building with seven teachers and five teaching classes.
In 2004, there were 9 teaching classes, 408 students and 30 employees. There are 4 teachers in the central kindergarten, all of them are public teachers, including 2 children's majors, 1 large class, 1 middle class and 1 small class. Since the establishment of the township, 138 people have been admitted to universities (including junior colleges), 99 to technical secondary schools and 1 to graduate students. Before 1988, the hospital had two departments (outpatient department and inpatient department), three rooms (radiation room, operating room and electric consulting room), and eight departments (internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, traditional Chinese medicine, Stomatology, orthopedics, acupuncture and physiotherapy). In 1998, it was awarded the title of first class B hospital and "Baby Friendly Hospital" by the Ministry of health. In 2005, there were 16 medical staff, 13000 outpatients, 1038 inpatients, 16 beds, and the utilization rate of beds was 84%. It can carry out biochemical examination, liver function, hepatitis B two pairs and a half, B-ultrasound examination of all organs, X-ray examination of bones and other organs and tissues, and carry out all-weather fetal heart monitoring, general surface tumor resection and other surgical operations, as well as fracture reduction and fixation, pesticide poisoning rescue, natural delivery, abortion, female ligation and other operations. Now there are 9 village clinics in the township.
Folk customs
There are many folk customs in Xiyuan Township, among which the Nuo dance in Daling village is the most representative. Every Spring Festival, the whole village men, young and old, go out to the village for good weather, and the dragon lantern dance is also popular among the masses.
Xiyuan is the base point Township in the old revolutionary base area. In 1934, it was the seat of Linan county Party committee. There are 9 villages in the old revolutionary base area and 17 villages in the old revolutionary base area.
