Jishan town

Jishan town is a town under the jurisdiction of Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is located in the southeast of Nanling County, bordering Yijiang town in the East, Sanli town and Changqiao town in Jing County in the south, Gongshan town and Jiafa town in the west, Xu town and Pingpu town in Fanchang County across the river in the north. The town has a total area of 172.1 square kilometers and a population of 140179 (2017).

In August 2019, Qilin village and Nanxiang community will form a new Qilin community, and the residents committee of Qilin community will be stationed in the original villagers committee of Qilin village.

In September 2019, Liancheng village and Xintang village are merged into Meiyuan community, and the residents committee of Meiyuan community is located in the former villagers committee of Liancheng village.

As of November 1, 2019, Jishan town has 25 villages (village committees) and 14 communities (neighborhood committees).

Historical evolution

It was called Qingyang City in ancient times. Since the fourth year of Chang'an (704) of Tang Dynasty, Nanling County government moved here and became the county government. In 1910, it was set up in the urban area. The first district office was set up in 1933. In 1935, it was renamed regional department. In March 1939, Chaoyang, Qiupu and Jihui were established. In 1941, he withdrew his citizenship and entered Chaoyang and Qiupu towns. In August 1949, Chengxiang District was set up. In February of the next year, it was changed to district 10. In February 1952, it was renamed Chengxiang District, with three towns of Zhangxi, Xinmin and Chengxi. In August 1956, the district was withdrawn and Chengguan town was set as a county town. It was changed into Chengguan commune in 1960. In 1962, Chengguan town was restored. In 1992, Wuli township was merged into Chengguan town. In 1996, it covers an area of 51.5 square kilometers and has a population of 48000. It has jurisdiction over 10 neighborhood committees in Chungu, Lingyang, wanghualou, Longmen, Wuli, Xinhua, Zhangying, Guangming, Huimin and Dongguan, and nine administrative villages in Dagang, chafeng, Guting, shenting, Shuguang, Shanggang, Chengxi, zhangdun and Chengguan. In 2003, Chengguan Town, Gelin Township, Shipu town and Jiulian Township were abolished and Jishan town was established. Jishan Town People's government was stationed in the former Chengguan Town People's government.

Jishan has a long history and culture. There are 1 Neolithic sites in Guniu mountain and Shizishan mountain, 1 Mound Tombs in Qianfeng mountain from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the spring and Autumn period, 1 ancient smelting and casting site in Xilian and Guantang, 1 ancient tombs in Bali and Zhang dynasties, 8 Mound Tombs in Xiongcun, 8 Mound Tombs in Qilin and shenting, 1 ancestral hall pottery with printed patterns, 1 water conservancy project site in danongpi and huangbaipi of Tang Dynasty, and a new wharf site in Jiulongwan in the Song Dynasty In addition, Li Bai, Du Mu, Wang Wei, Tang Xianzu and other celebrities have visited here, leaving many poems.

Jishan town is under the jurisdiction of Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. 205, 318 National Highway and 216, 320 provincial highway transit, Zhanghe River, Xigang river navigation. There are qianfengshan ancient tombs, ancient copper smelting and casting sites, tombs of Six Dynasties, water conservancy facilities of Tang Dynasty, danongpi, huangbaipi sites, and Neolithic sites in Guniu mountain.

Topography

The town has a complex terrain. It is high in the South and low in the north, with an altitude of 8.9-92.1 meters. The terrain is gently inclined from the southwest to the northeast. In the west, there are many high hills and low hills with gentle slopes, which are suitable for the development of economic forests. In the middle, it is located in the valley plain, with flat fertile fields, crisscross ditches and dense ponds. In the northeast, it is located in the river plain and polder area, with many depressions and branches of ditches, ponds and lakes, with the ditch pond rate of 36%.

Hydrological condition

The water system of the town is crisscross. Zhanghe River flows through the whole area from south to north along the West. There are many small streams at the south end, with short source and rapid flow. Gufeng river flows with Zifu River from south to north along the east edge, and then turns West to flow into Zhanghe River. There are three production rivers (New Waiba River, Gaoqiao River and yiziqiao River) in these three rivers. In addition, Hougang River, Laogang River, Dagang River, Shiqiao River and moat in the county and urban areas all converge with Zhanghe River. There are 19 drainage stations, 13 drought relief stations, 82 water storage dams, more than 120 gates and 33 reservoirs, including one national small reservoir (Bolin Hongqi reservoir) and five national small reservoirs (shenting Huashan reservoir, chafeng Lixin reservoir, wenjiachong reservoir, Jiangchong reservoir and tutangchong reservoir). The west main canal of baishanqu irrigation area irrigates the vast fertile fields in the central and southern valley plain, and is the main water source of agricultural production.

Climate and environment

The town has excellent natural conditions. Located at the junction of Hilly and plain polder areas in southern Anhui, it is a subtropical humid monsoon climate zone with mild climate, four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, sufficient light, long frost free period, and annual rainfall of 1402.6 mm, which is suitable for crop growth.

In October 2003, due to the adjustment of township division, Jishan town was merged from Chengguan Town, Shipu Town, Jiulian Township and Gelin Township, with village committee, neighborhood committee and 966 villager groups under its jurisdiction. The total population of the town is 140179 (2017). It covers an area of 172.1 square kilometers. There are 8896.6 hectares of cultivated land, 4135.53 hectares of mountains, forests and gardens, and 1525 hectares of water surface.
