Historical evolution

The name of China and Thailand came from the combination of Zhongqiao Township and Taishan Township. Before liberation, Zhongqiao Township belonged to Jiufeng township. Zhongqiao commune was established in 1961 and Zhongqiao township was established in 1984. Taishan Township is named after Taishan. Taishan Township was established in 1956 and called Taishan people's commune in 1961. On May 25, 1992, Zhongqiao Township and Taishan Township merged to establish Zhongtai township.

In August 2011, Zhongtai street was established in Zhongtai township.
