Futan Township

Longtan Township is located in the southeast of Gaoxian County, 21 kilometers away from the county, covering an area of 20.36 square kilometers. It governs four administrative villages, 35 agricultural production groups, with a total population of 3778 (2017). The cultivated land area of the township is 5551 mu. In 2002, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township reached 8.63 million yuan, which is a typical small township with agricultural production as the main part.

On August 26, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some administrative regions of Yibin City, abolishing Futan Township and putting its administrative region under the jurisdiction of Jiale Town, which is located at No.1 Guangle street.

General situation of villages and towns

It borders Baoshan Township and Hengfeng township of Gongxian County in the East, Jiale town in the south across Nanguang River, Wenjiang town in the west, Renai Township in the north, and Talang lake on Nanguang river. Futan specialty

Longtan Township has stable temperature, fertile soil and rich products all the year round. The main food crops are rice, corn, wheat, sweet potato and beans. The main cash crops are tea, sericulture, peanut, sugarcane and fruit. Among them, longan is the most famous "hometown of longan". There are more than 1000 large and small Longyuan trees in the township, which are mainly distributed in Longwang village and Xinyou village. Because of their characteristics of "full grain, sweet and delicious in the mouth, thick but not greasy in the flesh", they are very popular and in short supply every year. In recent years, due to strengthening the packaging and publicity of "Futan longan", it has gradually become a brand.
