It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages, 77 natural villages and 178 villager groups in Chunan, chubei, hanlou, Lihe, zhangxiaolou, sunpo, fantang, Liujia, Shanglou, zhaoba, xizhanglou, Yuanzhuang, zhudian, Caozhuang, Chenzhuang, jiuguliu, zhesang, Qinji, haolou and Xieyuan. evolution
Chu Temple originated from Chu suiliang, the Duke of Henan Province in the Tang Dynasty. It is said that Chu suiliang was granted the title of Duke of Henan Province during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty. He was upright as an official and did not follow suit. When Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty appointed Wu Zetian as empress, Chu suiliang took the lead in opposing and admonished him many times. Emperor Gaozong refused to admonish him. Chu suiliang resigned and returned to Li. To commemorate him, the people built a temple and built an inn nearby to receive people Guest, later known as Chu Temple shop, now referred to as Chu temple.
Originally belonging to Mengtai District of kaocheng County, it was returned to Lankao County in 1954. In June 1954, it was transferred to Minquan county and set up chumiao Central Township. Chumiao commune was established in 1958 and Beiguan District in 1961; chumiao commune was restored in 1956. In 1975, the original chumiao commune was divided into chumiao commune and Shunhe commune. In addition, Zhang Xinzhuang, LV Huayuan and Xue Qiao were assigned to laoyanji township. In 1983, the township was changed.
In 1997, it covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 34000. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages including chumiaonan, chumiaobi, hanlou, Chentang, Caozhuang, jiuguliu, zhesang, xizhanglou, Liuhe, zhangzilou, bolou, Shanglou, fantang, Liujia, Xieyuan, zhaoba, zhudian, Yuanzhuang and qinzhuang.

There are 3 middle schools with 2040 students, 18 primary schools with 4006 students, 270 teachers and 3 private kindergartens. Grain production has been bumper year after year. In 2006, the total grain output of the township was 64.79 million jin, an increase of 9% over the previous year, accounting for 5.6% of the total output of the county, with an average yield of 829 Jin per mu and a per capita grain share of 1940 Jin. Animal husbandry is developing rapidly. In 2007, 21500 pigs, 166800 chickens, 365 cattle and 31500 sheep were sold. The rapid development of industry, more investment projects, farmers' economic awareness and per capita income are increasing. The annual industrial power consumption of the township is 365300 kwh.
