Teoyall, located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, is close to the South China Sea. It is called Chaoyang because it is located in the north of the sea. Chaoyang County was established in 331, the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. From Jin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Yian Prefecture and Chaozhou Prefecture. In April 1993, the county was removed and set up as a city (county level). In March 2003, Chaoyang City at the county level was abolished and divided into Chaoyang District and Chaonan District, which were under the jurisdiction of Shantou City.
Chaoyang District is close to the Tropic of cancer and belongs to subtropical marine monsoon climate. There is no severe heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 21.5 ℃. The landform of the whole region is mainly hilly and plain, with Lianjiang River and Rongjiang river systems. National Highway 324, Shenzhen Shantou expressway, provincial highway 234, provincial highway 237, Xiamen Shenzhen railway and four expressways, namely, Shantou Zhanjiang, Chaohui, jiehui and Chaoshan ring line, pass through the territory.
Chaoyang culture is rich, known as "Zou Lu seaside". There are more than 130 tourist attractions and cultural relics in the region, including 1 national key cultural relic protection unit (Wenguang tower), 5 provincial cultural relic protection units (Lingshan Temple Dadian ancestor tomb, Haimen "Wanren tomb", Haimen lianhuafeng cliff stone carving, sixutang stone carving, Dongyan cliff stone carving), Dongshan scenic spot, lianhuafeng scenic spot, Dafeng scenic spot, Lingshan temple, Wenguang tower, etc Historic sites are famous far and near. Yingge dance, paper cutting and flute set music are the "three treasures" of Chaoyang Culture and art, which are listed in the first batch of national and provincial "intangible cultural heritage" protection projects. There are traditional crafts such as wood carving, stone carving, tin carving and incense manuscript sculpture, and folk cultural activities such as Chaozhou Opera, "shuangzhong" culture, "Mazu" culture, "Dafeng" charity culture and Guiyu "Jielu shed", which have won the title of "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art".
In October 2018, it won the title of "China's small and medium-sized cities green paper 2018" as one of the top 100 new urbanization quality districts in China in 2018.
Historical evolution
Chaoyang District is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, adjacent to the South China Sea. It was named "Chaoyang" because it is located in the south of the mountains and the north of the sea. At that time, it belonged to Yi'an County of Jin Dynasty.
Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, originally belongs to Chaoyang County, Guangdong Province, with a long history. The humanities has a long history, and eight thousand years ago it left the footprints of human civilization. Through expert identification, we collected prehistoric antiquities, and traced the prehistoric culture of Chaoyang to 8000 years ago. According to the unearthed cultural relics, Chaoyang has a history of more than 10000 years of human life and 5000 or 6000 years of civilization. In the Paleolithic age, human beings lived and multiplied in Chaoyang. In the Neolithic age, the civilization of Chaoyang was synchronized with that of the Central Plains.
Chaoyang District of Shantou City belongs to Baiyue in Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, and Haiyang state (Nan Ou state) in Xia and Shang Dynasties.
From the Qin Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms, it belonged to Jieyang County, Nanhai county. Since the Qin Dynasty, it was Chaoshan area in Guangdong Province. The earliest predecessor of Chaoshan was Jieyang County, which was subordinate to Nanhai county. Jieyang County, as a county system, began in the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC). Jieyang County of Nanhai county includes Jieyang City, Chaozhou City, Shantou City, Shanwei City, most of Meizhou city and southern Zhangzhou city. When Zhao Tuo became king in the late Qin Dynasty, he belonged to Jieyang County of Nanyue state, and in the early Western Han Dynasty, he belonged to Nanhai state. In the later period of the Three Kingdoms, it belonged to Guangzhou.
From Jin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Yian County, Chaozhou Prefecture and Chaoyang County. In 331 ad, Jieyang county was divided into four counties, Haiyang, Chaoyang, Haining and sui'an
In 331, Nanhai county was established as Dongguan county. Jieyang county was divided into Haiyang, Chaoyang, sui'an and Haining counties, which were merged into Dongguan county. Chaonan belongs to Chaoyang County. In the ninth year of Yixi (413) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Yian county was set up in Dongguan county. In the Qin and Han Dynasties, Yian county was set up in Jieyang County, which governed Haiyang county (in today's Chaozhou City). Yizhao county was set up in the north of Haiyang county. Yian County governed Haiyang, Chaoyang, Haining (three counties equivalent to today's Chaoshan area), sui'an and Yizhao.
In the Southern Dynasties and the Southern Qi Dynasty, Chengxiang county was set up in the north of Haiyang County in Yi'an county (the beginning of the establishment of Meixian County). Chengxiang county now covers Meixian County, Jiaoling County, Pingyuan county and Fengshun County. Yian County governs Haiyang County, Chaoyang County, Haining County, sui'an County, Yizhao county and Chengxiang county. Chaoyang belongs to Chaoyang County in Yi'an county.
"Zizhitongjian · Sui Jiwu", "biography of Chen Zhen" and "biography of Dongyi · liuqiuguo" clearly recorded that Chen Zhen and Zhang Zhen led more than ten thousand Sui troops to sail from Yi'an county to manage the flow. As the starting point of successfully expanding marine living space and advancing into the first island chain in the history of the Chinese nation, Yi'an county is the most dazzling spot in local chronicles.
In the 11th year of kaihuang reign of Sui Dynasty (591), the former Yi'an county was located in Chaozhou. Chaozhou was under the jurisdiction of Haiyang, Chaoyang, Haining, sui'an, Yizhao and Chengxiang. Chaoyang belonged to Chaoyang County of Chaozhou.
In the Tang Dynasty, Chaozhou governed Haiyang, Chaoyang and Chengxiang counties. Today, the territory of Chaozhou is Shantou City, Chaozhou City, Jieyang City, Shanwei City and most of Meizhou city.
The period of Five Dynasties and ten States belongs to the Southern Han Dynasty.
In the Song Dynasty, Chaozhou still belonged to Chaoyang County, Chaozhou. In 1121, Haiyang County of Chaozhou was restored to Jieyang county. In the Song Dynasty, Chaozhou governed four counties, namely Haiyang, Chaoyang, Jieyang and Chengxiang. Haiyang, Chaoyang and Jieyang were three counties, which were known as "Three Yang" in history.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it was renamed Chaozhou Road, which governed four counties of Haiyang, Chaoyang, Jieyang and Chengxiang, and still governed "Chaozhou Sanyang".
In 1369, Chaozhou road was changed to Chaozhou government. It governs Haiyang, Chaoyang, Jieyang and Chengxiang counties, and still governs "Chaozhou Sanyang". In the fourth year of Jiajing reign (1525), one third of Longjing capital was set up in Chaoyang County, and three capitals, Dani, youtou and Huilai, were set up in Huilai County. In the 42nd year of Jiajing, Yangwu, jirongshui and Huangkeng were established in Puning county. In the ninth year of Wanli (1581), Yangwu and jirongshui returned to Chaoyang County.
In the Ming Dynasty, Chaozhou's prefectures and counties were expanded. In 1633, Chaozhou's Sanyang county was divided into Raoping County, Huilai County, Chenghai County, Puning county and Dapu county. Chengxiang county was divided into Pingyuan county and Zhenping county.
In the Qing Dynasty, Chaoyang still belonged to Chaozhou Prefecture, and its organizational system remained unchanged. In 1733, Jiaying Prefecture was set up in Chengxiang, Pingyuan and Zhenping counties, and Chaozhou Prefecture had jurisdiction over eight counties. In 1738, after the establishment of Fengshun County by Haiyang, Jieyang and Dapu, nine counties were under the jurisdiction of Chaozhou Prefecture. The nine counties of Chaozhou prefecture were separated from the Sanyang of Chaozhou in the song and Yuan Dynasties. They are all known as "Yangs". In addition, Raoping is also known as Raoyang, Chenghai as Lianyang, Puning as Hongyang, Huilai as Kuiyang, and Dapu as tea The eight counties of Haiyang, Jieyang, Chaoyang, Chenghai, Raoping, Puning, Huilai and Fengshun in the capital of Chaozhou are collectively known as the eight cities of Chaozhou, also known as the eight cities of Chaozhou. The eight cities of Chaozhou are now located in Shantou City, Chaozhou City, Jieyang City and Fengshun County.
At the beginning of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Chaoyang County was directly under the governor of Guangdong Province. The third year of the Republic of China (1914) was the year of the order. In 1920, it was directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. In 1925, it belonged to Dongjiang administrative rehabilitation Office of Guangdong Province (in 1928, it was changed into Dongjiang administrative office). In 1932, it belonged to the appeasement Committee Office of the Eastern District of Guangdong Province. In the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), it belonged to the office of the Fifth District administrative inspector of Guangdong Province. In 1947, the fifth administrative region was changed to the sixth, which belonged to Chaoyang County. In April 1949, it was the seventh Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision of Guangdong Province. During the period of the Republic of China, Chaoyang County changed a little. In August 1933, liangyingwei and 18 townships (villages) including hepuliao, Gucuo, simii, Guxi, Weiwei, Yuanshanzi, jin'ou, FengChuan, Xiandou, guishanwan, Sanshun, liufenshui, houpeng, qiufengling, niujiaoqiu, linzheshi, chizhuya and Linzhao were analyzed, and Nanshan reclamation Committee (county level) was established. In October 1935, it was renamed Nanshan Administrative Bureau (county level) and located in liangyingxu.
On October 20, 1949, the county was liberated; on October 22, the whole territory of Chaoyang County was liberated, and the people's Government of Chaoyang County was established, which was set up in the first district (attached City). In December, it belongs to the Chaoshan provisional Commissioner's office.
In February 1950, it belonged to the office of the administrative inspector of Chaoshan District. In March, the Nanshan Administration Bureau was abolished, and the villages in Liangying area were restored to Chaoyang County, and the Tenth District was added. In June, Shiqiaotou Xixiang, Guiyu Township, Nan'an Township and Junbu village in Puning county were transferred to Chaoyang County. October is the office of the Chaoshan commissioner.
In November 1952, it belonged to the East Guangdong Office (established in July 1951), and in December of the same year, it belonged to the East Guangdong administrative office. In March 1956, it belongs to the office of Shantou Special Administrative Region.
In May 1958, nine villages in Chaoyang County, including dachanglong (shanbing village reserved) and Wanzi in Shichuan Township, and Shigang village in Chendian Township, were assigned to Puning County; DAHAO Town, Hepu town and Zhuyuan Township were assigned to Shantou City. In September of that year, 14 villages in leiling township of Chaoyang County, such as sugarcane tail, were assigned to Huilai County. In December, due to the merger of Huilai County and Puning County, Donghong people's commune (Tianxin, Xianan, Zhoutian, Jinghai, etc.) originally belonging to Huilai County was transferred to Chaoyang County.
In March 1961, four people's communes, Tianxin, Jinghai, Zhoutian and Xianan, were assigned to Huilai County; leiling people's commune in Huilai County and DAHAO and Hepu people's commune in Shantou City were assigned to Chaoyang County.
In March 1967, it belonged to Shantou regional military control committee. In March 1968, it belonged to Shantou regional Revolutionary Committee.
In 1975, DAHAO people's commune was once again incorporated into Shantou City, and Tianxin people's commune in Huilai County was restored to Chaoyang County.
In January 1980, it belongs to Shantou district administrative Commissioner Office.
