Baoshi village is located in Chuangwang Town, 25 kilometers south of Tongshan County, Xianning City, Hubei Province. The Baoshi River, which originates from Jiugong Mountain and Taiyang mountain, a national key scenic spot, flows through Baoshi village, dividing the village into South and North banks. Because the riverbed is full of pebbles, it is named Baoshi. More than 100 old houses located on both sides of the north and the South bring tourists to the time when they have gone away.
Since the beginning of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Shu family came to Baoshi village to set up a business, it has developed rapidly, reaching 997 households at the peak of the late Ming Dynasty. Most of them are well-known families. A large number of official houses and celebrities have written about the glory of the ancient village. It used to be the residence of some officials of the imperial court. It is famous for Shu Hongxu, a famous official in the history of the country, and Shu Daohong, a famous official in the current Dynasty.
