The memorial hall of the former site of the North Bureau of the CPC Central Committee is located at No.19 longtaili, Heilongjiang Road, Heping District, Tianjin. Built in 1915, it is a courtyard in a two-story brick and wood building with Lane style, covering an area of 121.22 square meters and a building area of 202.16 square meters. The former site is the office of the North Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in Tianjin from March 1936 to February 1937, and also the place where Comrade Liu Shaoqi lived when he was Secretary of the North Bureau. In December 2016, it was selected into the list of national red tourist attractions.

In December 1935, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held a meeting of the Political Bureau in Wayaobao, Northern Shaanxi, which established the strategy and policy of the party's Anti Japanese national united front. In order to carry out the spirit of the conference, Comrade Liu Shaoqi, appointed by the CPC Central Committee, arrived in Tianjin in March 1936 to preside over the work of the North Bureau of the CPC. During his leadership of the northern Bureau, Comrade Shaoqi correctly analyzed the revolutionary situation in the north, comprehensively summed up the experience and lessons of the work in the white areas, systematically exposed and criticized the mistakes of "left" opportunism in the work in the white areas, and put forward the correct policies and principles for the work in the white areas, which played a great role in promoting the establishment of the Anti Japanese national united front. By the end of 1936, the number of Party members in Tianjin had grown from dozens to more than 400, and organizations of Shandong provincial Party committee, Shanxi provincial Party committee, Henan Working Committee and some Party organizations in central and South China had been established, making the Anti Japanese and national salvation movements in the north and Tianjin widely and deeply carried out. The CPC Central Committee spoke highly of this. In a letter of instruction to the North Bureau and the Hebei provincial Party Committee on August 4, 1936, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee held that Comrade Shaoqi's transformation of the work of the north bureau "has laid a foundation for victory and has carried out a bright and brilliant future.". Therefore, the former site of the North Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in our city is an important revolutionary historic site of the party and an irreplaceable historical evidence of our party's work in the white area.

Current situation of exhibition hall

The exhibition contents of the memorial mainly include picture exhibition, physical display and restoration. The photo exhibition mainly reflects the party's experience of leading the people in the north to carry out the arduous revolutionary struggle from the establishment of the northern Bureau in December 1924 to the withdrawal after the victory of the Anti Japanese war in August 1945. The contents of the restoration display include the restoration of Liu Shaoqi's living room and the tailor shop of huixingde garment Bureau on the first floor. It was under the cover of the tailor shop that Shaoqi carried out and led the party's revolutionary work in the north. In the exhibition hall on the second floor of the memorial hall, there is a bust of Comrade Liu Shaoqi.
