Dongmenyu, also known as Tahu, covers an area of nearly 1 square kilometer. It is an island shaped like "Earth". Located outside the east gate of Tongshan ancient city, Dongshan Island, Zhangzhou City, it is famous for its exotic reefs, mellow caves and numerous historic sites. It is listed as one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province.

Main attractions

The main peak of dongmenyu is like a huge bonsai. The rocky peaks, with their grotesque rocks, rise high above Dongshan harbor's main point of going out to the ocean. A vast expanse of water and an abrupt peak make each other interesting. Along the stone path covered by trees, you can climb up the main peak of Lantau at an altitude of 91 meters to see Wenfeng tower. The tower is an octagonal solid building with dense eaves. It has seven floors and is made of granite. It was built in 1526 by Youfu in Jiajing of Ming Dynasty

Jianxun Haidao was built by Cai Chao. The tower is 31.7 meters high and 14 meters in circumference. There is a relief on eight sides from the second floor. The top of the tower is made of two gourd shaped stones. The tower is well preserved, which is an important sign of navigation in this sea area. As one of the scenic spots in Dongshan, it is called "Wenfeng on Dongyu island". In the past 470 years, it has been attacked by numerous strong typhoons and earthquakes. South section of Lantau

The south section of the Lantau Island is the main section of the scenic spot, where the natural landscape and cultural landscape are skillfully combined, and reach the seamless point; the middle section is the link between the south section and the north section, which is a strip sand belt about 200 meters long, with coastal beaches on both sides of the East and West, and the middle part is a north-south forest belt. The beach in the East is called beiaowei, and the beach in the west is called daaodi. The creator intends to create this comfortable grass embankment between the rocky sea cliffs, so that it can complement the rocks. Worship of Guandi

Where does the worship of Guandi come from? Dongshan is an island. Dongshan people take the sea as their field. Fishermen working at sea are often hit by hurricane and tsunami, and their lives are not guaranteed. As the saying goes, "walking on a boat and running on a horse can save one's life", it means that fishermen are driving boats to hunt fish.

They are in great need of the spirit of "sharing life and death in the same boat" to fight against nature. This kind of loyalty that fishermen need is consistent with Guan Gong's loyalty thought of "sleeping in the same bed, being kind as brothers" and "not living in the same year and month, but dying in the same year and month". On the other hand, Dongshan was invaded by Japanese pirates in history. It was isolated and helpless. It had to rely on the life and death of the people on the island to spontaneously unite to resist the Japanese. Moreover, in the secular world, it is inevitable that there are many things that are unfair, not smooth, and annoying. The eight immortals table is a kind of square table with a height of more than four feet and a side length of about 4.6 feet, which was called "Eight Immortals case" in ancient times. Xia'an has four legs and is mostly made of high-quality hardwood. There are usually eight people sitting on the whole table, so it's called Xia'an.
