The provincial nature reserve is located in the southwest of Youxi County, 13 kilometers away from the county. The reserve is 6.5 km long from east to west and 6 km wide from north to south, covering a total area of 2308.2 hectares. Among them, jiufuxi gorge is 10 km long, with steep gorge and numerous waterfalls. The maximum drop of the waterfall is more than 50 meters. Biological resources

The reserve is rich in biological resources. There are 1113 species of vascular plants in 171 families, including 112 species of Pteridophytes in 34 families, 12 species of gymnosperms in 6 families and 989 species of angiosperms in 131 families. Among them, there are 13 species of wild plants listed in the national key protection, including Taxus chinensis and Glyptostrobus pensilis, and taowania cryptomioides, Fokienia hodginsii, Phoebe bournei and Phoebe Zhejiang There are 11 species including chekiangensis, ormosia Hosie I, Ormosia henryi and Camptotheca acuminata. Seven species, Castanopsis hystrix, Cinnamomum micranthum, Machilus micranthum and Halesia macgregoii, are listed as local protection in Fujian Province. In the nature reserve, there are small pure forest with buttock shaped fruit and Fokienia hodginsii with an area of about 13.3 Hm2, which are rare in Fujian Province. There are 1147 species of wild animals in 241 families, 44 orders, 10 classes, among which 35 species belong to 16 families, 7 orders of mammals, 207 species belong to 32 families, 11 orders of ornitha, 25 species belong to 5 families, 2 orders of Reptilia and 15 species belong to 5 families, 2 orders of amphibia. In order to protect the forest resources of the mid subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, the Jiufushan Provincial Nature Reserve Management Office of Youxi County was established in April 2002 with the approval of the editorial board of Youxi County. The authorized staff is 7 people, and the organization specification is a public institution at the sub section level, which is subordinate to the forestry bureau of Youxi County. After the establishment of the reserve, the phenomenon of indiscriminate cutting and hunting of rare wild animals was effectively stopped, and the ecological resources of Jiufu mountain were diversified and protected.
