brief introduction
Basalt pillar landscape, also known as hexagonal stone landscape, is located in the southeast of Laoyeling mountains in Hunchun City, 43 km away from Mijiang Township and 61 km away from Hunchun. The landscape is composed of basic volcanic rock ore bodies formed after volcanic eruption. The ore body is quaternary chuandishan basalt. The length of the ore body is 85m and the width is 40m. Due to weathering, the upper part of the ore body is mostly 10-30cm in diameter and 0.8-1.2m in length. The hexahedral column walks on the ore body and is arranged according to the slope direction. The lower part is a relatively tight hexahedral column, which occurs as a whole. The ore body obviously flows along the right side of the valley and presents a U-shape downward. By naked eye, the rock is black, cryptocrystalline, semi cryptocrystalline and dense. By microscopic observation, the rock is full crystalline or semi glassy micro granular or banded structure. Banpin is mainly composed of augite, a small amount of olivine and plagioclase. The matrix is a micro intergranular structure composed of pyroxene and plagioclase. Because the rock contains part of iron, the specific gravity is large, generally between 2.9-3.2. Since the discovery of basalt landscape, many domestic and foreign tourists and researchers have come here for sightseeing. This landscape is pure natural landscape, with high ornamental and scientific research value.
The appearance is very beautiful. There are many beautiful textures on the surface!
