Historical records
It is said that the temple was originally built by Wu Luxun of the Three Kingdoms and was built in 1037,
In the first year of Xuanhe in Song Dynasty, Emperor Huizong granted a "Chongfu Taoist temple" to Emperor Zhenwu, who became a Taoist temple. In 1553, Japanese pirates burned and robbed Sanlin
Zhuang, the only Taoist temple, was not disturbed for several miles. The villagers thought that it was blessed and raised money one after another. In 1559, they rebuilt the monastery Ning and wrote a record according to the inspector Xi Liangfu, which said: "the Japanese made a change and killed the people of the sea. They made a special effort to protect the peace, which is also a clear sign." Until the Qing Dynasty, the villagers thought that the Taoist temple could protect one side, so they regarded it as the "holy hall".
In the 21st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Cao Chu invited people from both urban and rural areas to raise more than 4000 liang of silver to repair the hall. During the period of the Republic of China, Ren Zhaoquan, a villager, started to rebuild the original four into three patios and changed them into three into two patios. They were mainly dedicated to Zhenwu emperor, 36tianjiang and Shidian Yama. According to the new Shanghai Grand View in 1993, from the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the palace system formed by Chongfu Taoist temple and Penglai Taoist temple in Puxi had a great impact on the development of Taoism in Songjiang and Shanghai Ring.
