Historical evolution
Initial construction
Shenyang Taiping temple, located at 21 Taiping lane, Huangsi Road, Heping District, Shenyang, is the home Temple of Xibo nationality. It was built in the 46th year of Kangxi by Xibo people living in Shengjing. In the eighth year of Jiaqing, zuoling vashabu carved two stone tablets on the East and west sides of the hall. The inscriptions not only record the establishment, expansion and repair of the Xibo family temple, but also record the process of the Xibo people moving to Shengjing, which has preserved the history of the Xibo people for more than 300 years. One of the two steles is now in the Shenyang Palace Museum. In the middle of the main hall, there is a plaque with four big characters of "Xibo family temple", which was presented by the Xibo people's association leader sepukeng who was stationed in Shengjing during Xianfeng Period.
Renovation and reconstruction
Shenyang Municipal People's government attaches great importance to the restoration of Taiping temple, the Xibo family temple. In 1984, the central hall was restored with funds and managed by the people's Committee. In February 1985, Shenyang Municipal People's government announced it as a municipal cultural relics protection unit. In 1764 (the 29th year of Qianlong's reign), the Qing government dispatched more than 3000 Xibo soldiers and their families from Shengjing to Yili, Xinjiang, to strengthen the northwest border defense after calming down the Junggar rebellion.
On April 18 of the lunar calendar, Sibo compatriots who moved west to Ili and stayed in their hometown gathered in Taiping Temple of Sibo family temple to kill pigs, sacrifice their ancestors, pray for peace, and prepare a feast for their relatives on the expedition. Since then, every year until April 18 of the lunar calendar, Xibo people have held a grand commemoration of westward migration in Taiping temple. Scale system
Taiping temple is located in the north and faces south, with rigorous layout and magnificent scenery. The original area is 18000 square meters. The building area is 958 square meters. The architectural style is in the form of Lama Temple. The main buildings are the mountain gate, the front, the middle and the back hall, and the East and west side hall. There are statues of the third Buddha, zongkaba Buddha, the five Dharma protectors, and the four heavenly kings in the hall. The temple was in disrepair for a long time and was seriously damaged before liberation. Most of the buildings were demolished and factory buildings were built on the spot. Now there are only three middle halls, which are of the style of corridor in front of a hard mountain, with gray tile roof, sandalwood imitating color painting, and red ground battle columns. There are two stone tablets in the temple, one in Chinese and the other in Manchu. The Manchu stele was found in 1959. It was broken at that time and sent to Shenyang Palace Museum for preservation after restoration. It is an important historical relic preserved by Xibo people. It has been copied and erected in front of the hall. In addition, a wooden plaque, 270 cm long, 97 cm wide and 40 cm thick, has been preserved in the Xibo family temple.
