The prison faces north and south, and there is a small gray two-story building in the west, where the prison authorities used to work. There is a long tubular cell in the backyard of the building, which is a cell. The cells are divided into South prison and North prison, with 24 cells each. In September 1931, for the purpose of detaining the Communists arrested in Beiping and Tianjin, the Kuomintang government took this place as a temporary detention center, and in March 1932, it was changed into "Beiping military reflection branch". It is commonly known as caolanzi prison. It is a key cultural relic in Xicheng District.
