The walls are inlaid with fossils such as fish bones and shells, together with icebergs and fishing net fences, and the various shapes of Chagannur fisherman statues on the square give people a strong sense of fishing and hunting culture.
The significance of Library Construction
Fishing and hunting is one of the main life styles of human beings in primitive times. A large number of unearthed cultural relics and cultural sites along Chagan Lake and Qingshantou HONGSHILAZI along the Songhua River prove that human beings lived and multiplied along the Chagan Lake in the Paleolithic age. From the legendary Sushen, Donghu and Wuchen tribes to the Fuyu and Bohai periods, the ancestors of Chagan Lake still took fishing and hunting as their main way of life. The unique natural resources and environment made this primitive and ancient way of life continue for more than 1000 years. Until the Liao and Jin Dynasties, with the increasing exchange and integration of nomadic culture, fishing and hunting culture in northern China and farming culture in Central China, farming culture along Chagan Lake gradually developed. From the Liao Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty, the emperor led his ministers and concubines to Chagan Lake every spring for "spring Nabo", and held a grand ceremony of Lake sacrifice, ice fishing and "head fish banquet" to entertain the ministers and envoys. It is said that Genghis Khan led the Mongolian cavalry to capture Tahu City, an important town of the state of Jin, and came to Qingshantou by the lake. Facing Chagan Lake, he offered nine kinds of tribute and burnt incense, and called Chagan Lake "holy water". In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the fishing and hunting activities in Chagan Lake had been flourishing unprecedentedly, becoming a paradise for fishing and hunting in Mobei and a paradise for human beings.
