Liuxihe National Forest Park
Liuxihe National Forest Park is an ecological park located in Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, with a total area of 8813 hectares. It mainly includes caitan field, Peacock Garden, Guanlu garden, Liuxi Xiangxue, sanyatang Valley, xiaolijiang River, feicui islands, Monkey Island, sunset cattle, monument to Anti Japanese martyrs, human face strange stone, Liuxihe dam and other scenic spots.
Liuxihe National Forest Park is one of the first batch of national top ten forest parks approved by the Ministry of forestry (now Forestry Bureau) and the national top ten forest park model unit.
Geography
Location and topography
Liuxihe National Forest Park is located in the northeast of Guangzhou City, north of Conghua district and connecting with Liangkou Town, 93 km away from Guangzhou city. It has high forest coverage and hundreds of mountains. In the center of the park is Liuxihe Reservoir, with an area of more than 20000 mu and 22 islands. The main peak of Jizhen mountain is 1146.7 meters above sea level, which is the second highest peak in Guangzhou.
Climatic characteristics
It is located in the subtropical zone with mild climate, abundant rainfall, abundant resources and numerous species. The annual average temperature is 20.3 degrees, the average maximum temperature is 31.9 degrees, the average minimum temperature is 11.8 degrees, and the average annual rainfall is 2000 mm. Due to the high mountains and dense forests, and the adjustment of microclimate by lakes, the park is evergreen all the year round. In spring, there are flowers blooming; in summer, there are plenty of rain; in autumn, there are large red maple forests; in winter, there are bamboo, plum, etc. The park has the characteristics of subtropical forest, known as a green pearl inlaid in the Tropic of cancer.
Animal and plant resources
There are 819 species of angiosperms belonging to 401 genera and 134 families in the park. There are precious tree species such as bamboo cypress, camphor and Phoebe in the park forest, as well as ornamental flowers and trees such as cherry, Cymbidium, hedinglan and Rhododendron. There are tea garden, plum garden and bamboo garden in the park. More than 100 species of national rare and endangered plants are introduced to the park: there are 158 species of terrestrial vertebrates in 61 families, 24 orders, such as Sumen antelope, water deer, mountain cow, cat and beaver, civet, Miscanthus, pangolin and other mammals; pheasant, pheasant, heron, mandarin duck, thrush, Acacia mangium and other birds; among them, there are more than 20 kinds of national first and second level protected plants, such as pheasant, python, leopard, pangolin, silver pheasant and so on animal.

Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the scenery of Liuxi River and Wuzhi Mountain in Conghua has been highly praised by the literati in Lingnan, leaving behind such verses as "when to divide one's hands, we will meet just outside the mountain", "jade shoots are flying out of the sky, there are many emerald mists, the sky is exposed, the stars are flowing at night", "immortal flowers are planted on the top of the mountain at four o'clock, Shixin Castle Peak is not old".
After the establishment of Liuxihe forest farm in 1959, party and state leaders Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi and he long visited Liuxihe Reservoir one after another. For Liuxihe Reservoir, Chen Yi once chanted the poem "the flood is stopped by the flood dam, and the clear waves are injected by the wide sea". Comparing the scenery of Lingnan, there are many sceneries here. "Guo Moruo once wrote a poem that" mountains form islands, and a boat of Valley smokes the wind. Management planning
In 1956, the people's Government of Guangdong Province built Liuxihe Reservoir and power plant;
In April 1959, Liuxihe forest farm was established. The main task of the forest farm is to protect and nurture the forest, followed by cutting and management; the main purpose of the establishment of the forest farm is to conserve water and protect the reservoir.
In 1983, with the approval of the Ministry of forestry (now Forestry Bureau), the Ministry of forestry, Guangzhou Municipal People's government and Liuxihe Forest Farm jointly set up a forest park in Liuxihe forest farm to combine forest farm and tourism.
Since September 1992, the engineering and technical personnel of Zhongnan Forestry University and Guangzhou forestry bureau, after more than three years of field investigation and observation, have improved the landscape, tourism, animals and plants, hydrogeological resources, environmental quality, air anion concentration, air bacteria content, air quality, surface water quality, radioactive elements, transportation and socio-economic conditions of Liuxihe National Forest Park 15 special reports and the park master plan with 12 sub plans were made. It is estimated that it will take 23 years (to 2015) to build the park into a forest park with international advanced level.
In 1993, the Ministry of forestry officially named Liuxihe National Forest Park. According to the policy of "no publicity and no news" at that time, the development of the park still focused on reception and protection. The main purpose and task of the park is still water conservation, forest tourism, and solving certain employment and economic problems.
In November 1995, 30 experts from 17 units, including the Ministry of forestry (now Forestry Bureau), Chinese Academy of forestry, Institute of tourism science of China Tourism University, Institute of landscape science of Tongji University, Beijing Forestry University, Northeast Forestry University and Guangzhou Tourism Bureau, etc Many experts and professors have reviewed the master plan of Liuxihe National Forest Park. They believe that the protection and utilization plan of forest ecological resources combined with tourism has certain practicability, operability and pioneering ability. It takes the lead in domestic forest tourism planning, and its achievements have reached the international advanced level.
Introduction to scenic spots
The park is equipped with luxury villa, Chinese and western high and middle class guest rooms, lake view restaurant, conference rooms, song and dance halls, shopping malls, mountain spring swimming pool and other supporting facilities. There are 10 amusement projects, such as water recreation, enjoying with monkeys, color ball field battle, ethnic style garden, Peacock Garden and deer watching garden, 12 cultural landscapes, such as Liuxi fragrant snow, Liuxi rainbow and rare botanical garden, and 13 natural landscapes, such as sanyatang Valley, xiaolijiang River and feicui islands. It produces Liuxi tea, Huamei, dongmi and other local products.
Sanyatang Valley
Sanyatang Valley is located in Wuzhishan scenic area in the south of Liuxihe National Forest Park. It is a subtropical mountain rain forest with mild climate, abundant rainfall and fresh air. The forest coverage rate of youguli is 98%, and the annual average temperature is 19.1 ° C. There are more than 30 natural landscapes in the valley, including Yougu Cuizhu, subtropical mountain rain forest, millennium old rattan, feiliuxianqiao, Tongtian cave, bishuitan, yougutan, and five cultural landscapes, including ancient charcoal kiln and sanyatang dam. In Yougu mountain, there are stone rooms, restaurants and other service facilities.
Water recreation
Liuxi lake, also known as Liuxi River reservoir, is the source of Liuxi River, located in the middle of Liuxi River National Forest Park. Built in 1958, the reservoir covers an area of more than 20000 mu and has a capacity of 350 million cubic meters. It plays the role of storing water and generating electricity, supplying 60% of the citizens of Guangzhou with drinking water, irrigating farmland and nourishing trees. After tourism development and utilization, Liuxihe Reservoir is called "Liuxi Lake". Liuxihe National Forest Park has more than 10 large, medium and small boats and speedboats. The main water amusement projects developed in Liuxihe National Forest Park include: enjoying Liuxi Lake by boat, enjoying Liuxi Lake by airship, having fun with Monkey (on Monkey Island by boat), participating in Peacock Garden (on peacock island by boat), touring Liuxihe dam, touring xiaolijiang River, etc.
Liuxi fragrant snow
Liuxixiangxue is a seasonal scenic spot of Liuxihe National Forest Park in Guangzhou, with the largest Meilin in Southeast Asia. In winter, when the plum blossom is open, the white plum blossom looks like the snow all over the mountain, so it is called "flowing stream fragrant snow".
Field Club
The forest field club in the park is one of the first clubs to open in China. The club has professional instructors, special mountain field, new color bullet gun, new bulletproof helmet and so on. Equipped with the first batch of new gfx - Ⅰ, gfx - Ⅱ and gfx - Ⅲ American Color Bullet guns and laser guns. In the mountainous pine forest, which covers an area of more than 20000 square meters, three battlefields with different combat modes have been opened up: highland battle zone, pine forest blocking battle zone, and jungle guerrilla search battle zone.
Peacock Island
Peacock Garden in Liuxihe National Forest Park is located on an island in Liuxi lake. The island has a wide area with many trees, bamboo, flowers and birds. It also has European inland style original buildings, houses, pavilions and paths. It has become a tourist attraction in the park. There are more than 300 peacocks in the Peacock Garden built on the island, including blue, green and white peacocks. Among them, green peacock is the second class protected animal of the state. Most of the blue peacocks are native to India, also known as "Indian Peacock".
Monkey Island
Monkey Island was opened to the public in May 1995, with about 200 monkeys. It is jointly built by Zhongkai Agricultural College and World Wildlife Conservation Organization (macaque population). Among them, the monkeys are the second and third generations after training. Although they are raised in captivity, they have been domesticated. They will run to the dock to meet people. Visitors can go to Monkey Island to feed, take photos and watch monkey performances.
