The octagonal "moon Pavilion" on the top of Beishan Mountain in Jilin Province is a building made of reinforced concrete in the 1970s. It is a combination of classical style pavilion top and modern style pavilion body. The name of the pavilion may be taken from Mao Zedong's poem "you can reach the moon in the sky and catch turtles in the ocean". In the past, there were few high-rise buildings in Jilin City. This is the commanding height of the city. For tourists to Jilin, they usually have to go to the moon Pavilion on the north mountain, look around the mountains, observe the eight square city and overlook the Songhua River. The pavilion is four stories high. Visitors can go to the open third floor. The fourth floor is a fully enclosed structure, which is generally not open to the public and can receive VIP guests. In the pavilion, there are "Beishan painting academy" inscribed by Mr. Qigong and "Beishan moon culture exhibition hall" with the theme of "people and the moon are in the same circle". It is an excellent place to enjoy the moon during the Mid Autumn Festival.
