brief introduction
Cai Xiong, named simu, was born in Hai'an office, Tangxia Town, Ruian in 1907. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1926 and was the leader of the youth student movement in Wenzhou. Shortly after the "April 12" counter revolutionary coup in 1927, he died bravely in Wenzhou.
Because of his father's early death, Cai Xiong's family relied on his mother to support him. His hometown Hai'an was an important position in the Ming Dynasty's Anti Japanese struggle. Young Cai Xiong often talked to several old people in the town about the Anti Japanese deeds of the people along the coast of Ruian more than 350 years ago. In the autumn of 1922, he was admitted to the tenth Normal University of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He was honest, knowledgeable, and elegant in poetry. It was just after the May 4th movement that the new culture and new trend of thought surged. Zhu Ziqing, a writer of new literature, came to the university to teach. Cai Xiong and his classmates Jin Guanzhen and Su yuanlei, who love new literature and art, organized "Hong Wen Hui", "Xue Bo she" and other new literature research groups, published publications, and invited Zhu Xiansheng as a guide to actively promote new ideas.
a merit
In 1924, the CPC Central Committee sent Xie Wenjin to Wenzhou to prepare for the establishment of the party and Youth League organizations. Cai Xiong had frequent contact with Xie Wenjin and began to accept Marxist ideas. Shortly after the establishment of the Wenzhou independent branch of the CPC, Cai Xiong was introduced by Zheng Xichen, the person in charge of the Wenzhou independent branch, to join the Communist Youth League and become one of the earliest members of the Communist Youth League in southern Zhejiang. In 1926, he became a member of the Communist Youth League of China. On June 22 of the same year, Wenzhou Federation of students founded the journal Wenzhou students. In his address, Cai Xiong clearly pointed out that the main task of the youth movement was to "overthrow the great powers and feudal warlords". The publication of Wenzhou students has effectively guided the youth student movement in Wenzhou.
After Chiang Kai Shek launched the "April 12" counter revolutionary coup in Shanghai in 1927, the "April 15" and "Qing party" events occurred in Wenzhou. Under the severe white terror, Cai Xiong did not waver his revolutionary will. Together with other members of the "Wen Du Zhi" who stayed in Wenzhou, he went underground and continued to carry out revolutionary activities. In order to expose the conspiracy of the reactionaries and the evil acts of the charity revolution, they set up the "zhaodan Bao", a small oil Stamp Office, to arouse the hatred of the broad masses of the people against the reactionaries. Restless, the Kuomintang reactionaries ordered the whole city to be under martial law and sent secret agents to search docks, hotels and traffic arteries. In this case, Cai Xiong and others judged the situation and decided to stop the publication of zhaodan daily, evacuate the staff, return to their hometown to hide and wait for another fight.
After returning to his hometown, Cai Xiong always believed in the revolutionary struggle of Wenzhou people. In the early morning of May 18, he disguised himself as a farmer in the city, took a bundle of publicity materials with him, took a boat from Hai'an to Wenzhou, went ashore in the secluded place of Xiaonanmen, mixed with the crowd, and went straight to the city.
Unexpectedly, he walked out a few steps with him and was watched by several agents. He was immediately arrested and taken to the county police station. When the reactionaries heard that they had seized Cai Xiong, they immediately opened the trial and played a trick of both hard and soft. However, Cai Xiong never uttered a word, that is, he denounced the enemy. The enemy became angry and ordered to shackle Cai Xiong and put him in prison, and dealt with him with inhuman punishment. Cai Xiong's arms and thighs were broken, his whole body was bruised, and he fainted many times. But when he woke up, he was still proud and looked back to death.
On the late night of May 23, with drizzle, a team of armed policemen from the Kuomintang police station in Yongjia rushed to the street. Suddenly, the whole city was on high alert. At this time, two soldiers carrying a charcoal basket, sitting in the dying Cai Xiong, went straight to the playground of the provincial No.10 middle school. Cai Xiong, the leader of Wenzhou student movement and an outstanding communist, was secretly killed by the reactionaries at the age of 20. His young and brilliant life will always burst out with brilliant light!
