Taiping temple is located in Shuangyue village, Sanmao street, Yangzhong City, formerly known as xiadongyue temple. It was built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 300 years.

Historical evolution

Taiping temple is located in Shuangyue village, Sanmao street, Yangzhong City, formerly known as xiadongyue temple. It was built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 300 years. Xiadongyue temple, with more than 100 halls, is the largest Buddhist temple in the history of Yangzhong. During the cultural revolution, it was seriously damaged and only the next back hall was reserved. In 1995, Yangzhong City implemented the party's religious policy and approved the reconstruction of xiadongyue temple, named Taiping temple.

Temple pattern

Taiping temple is divided into two phases, the first phase of which is the main hall, Yujian building, sanshengtang, causal city and Zen house. Among them, the main hall has invested more than 16 million yuan with a construction area of 3360 square meters. The hall is located in the center of the temple, facing south from the north. The four characters "Da Xiong Bao Dian" on the forehead of the temple were inscribed by Zhao Puchu, the late president of the National Buddhist Association. The building area of the main hall is 3360 square meters, 46 meters long, 36 meters wide and 34.6 meters high. It is covered with glass, with cornices and carved beams. It is the architectural style of Jiangnan in the late Qing Dynasty. Its scale is in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai
