Zhan ruibing memorial is located in Huiyang District, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. Zhan ruibing, also known as Zhaoju, is a native of Danshui in Huiyang, Guangdong Province.

Zhan ruibing, also known as Zhaoju, is a native of Danshui in Huiyang, Guangdong Province. In his early years, Zhan Gong was poor, but later he started a business. He founded two shops in Danshui Wei, namely "Cheng'an" cloth shop and drugstore.

The reason for erecting the monument

In 1914, Guangdong governor long Jiguang took refuge with Yuan Shikai and captured revolutionaries everywhere. At that time, Deng Zhongyuan was ordered by Sun Yat Sen to carry out military activities against yuan in Guangdong. In August, Deng Zhongyuan launched an old uprising, which failed because of its haste. In 1916, Deng Zhongyuan, then commander-in-chief of the Chinese revolutionary army, was ordered by Sun Yat Sen to fight yuan Qulong (Jiguang) again. In this Crusade, Deng Zhongyuan received strong support from all walks of life in his hometown. Among them, Zhan ruibing actively mediated with the Tanshui business community and raised funds for Deng Zhongyuan to buy a large number of guns, ammunition and supplies in urgent need. After that, Deng Zhongyuan defeated the enemies of Guangzhou, Huizhou and Dongguan and laid a solid foundation. Zhan ruibing's righteous deeds were also praised by the revolutionary army departments

On March 20, 1933, Zhan ruibing died of illness. After General Li Jishen learned of Zhan ruibing's death, in order to remember the friendship between Zhan ruibing and general Deng Zhongyuan and carry forward their spirit, he built a garden named "Zhan ruibing garden" beside the mud bridge outside the east gate of Danshui town. There are archways and stone lions in the garden gate. In the garden, there are walls of green bamboo, rows of fruit trees, small bridges and flowing water, rockery fish ponds, pavilions, tables and chairs, three cemeteries and one monument.

After several difficulties, the monument was finally rebuilt

In 1958, the garden was destroyed by the great steel making movement, and the tombs and steles were forced to move. In 1980, because of the Xinkaihe River in Danshui, the tombs and steles were lost.

In 2009, Huiyang District implemented comprehensive regulation of Danshui River Basin. The Zhan ruibing monument is located within the scope of the tan'ao River project and needs to be relocated. Zhan ruibing memorial was moved to the planned estuary park near the flood diversion mouth of Danshui River, and the reconstruction was completed in 2010.
