Xuantian cave is located in the northeast of Xifeng County, 8 kilometers away from the county. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Yuetian, a Taoist from Sichuan Province, traveled here. Seeing the magnificent momentum of the ancient cave, he thought it was a good place for cultivation. So he asked the villagers in the mountain to build two small houses in the cave. Because there was no need to shelter from the rain, just to prevent dust, he built a house with the bark peeled from the house. The house had a poetic name, Mupi temple. Yuetian Taoist offered the statue of Emperor Xuan in the cave, so the cave was named Xuantian cave. The area of the cave is 3400 square meters. According to historical records, in its heyday, there were five Yuhuang halls, three Sanguan halls, seven upper halls, nine lower halls, and more than 30 kitchens and bedrooms. There is a small hole in the big hole. I don't know how deep it is. There is a clear spring at the bottom of the hole. It is connected into the kitchen with soap and can be drunk by hundreds of people. Yuetian Taoist began to preach, and people who were close to hundreds of miles came to pay homage and listen to the sermon, and some dignitaries also came to visit. It has become a treasure of Taoism. Xuantian cave, the famous national hero Yang Hucheng, was held here by the Kuomintang military Bureau for eight years.
Xuantian cave
Xuantian cave was famous at the end of Ming Dynasty. When a Taoist from Sichuan visited the cave, he thought it was a good place to cultivate immortals and cultivate Taoism. So he didn't leave. Instead, he asked someone to build two huts in the cave and use the peeled bark to cover the roof. He took a very casual Name: Mupi temple, which was dedicated to Xuanwu Emperor (also known as Zhenwu emperor), one of the Taoist ancestors It is also called Xuandi temple. Since then, Xuantian cave has become more and more popular, and has been continuously expanded and repaired. At its peak, there are 5 Jade Emperor halls, 3 Sanguan halls (Sanqing halls), 7 upper halls, 3 lower halls, and more than 30 large and small houses in this 3400 square meter cave. There are dozens of statues in the cave. The front hall is for the three immortal masters of Taoism: Xuanwu emperor, Li Laojun and Qiu Chuji. The back hall is for the Jade Emperor. On both sides of the Jade Emperor are the golden girl and the four heavenly kings.
Introduction to scenic spots
Xuantian cave, Guiyang, Guizhou
Xuantian cave is a natural karst cave located at the foot of Nanwang mountain, 8 kilometers east of Xifeng County. The top of the cave is 15 meters high, 54 meters wide and 130 meters deep. The total area of the cave is 3400 square meters. There is only one path connecting with the outside world. In front of the cave and in the cave, there are the Jade Emperor's hall, Sanqing palace, di Mu temple and other buildings built since Ming Dynasty. During the Anti Japanese War, Xuantian cave became one of the prisons of Xifeng concentration camp. From 1938 to 1946, anti Japanese patriotic tiger General Yang Hucheng and his family members were secretly imprisoned in the cave, isolated from the world for nearly eight years.
In front of Xuantian cave is a big mountain. A valley is formed between the two mountains, and there is a stream in it. The height difference between Xuantian cave and valley bottom is 103 meters. The original rough stone path has been built into stone steps after 2000, with 570 levels.
Later, about 300 meters away from the entrance of Xuantian cave, a karst cave was found, more than 300 meters deep. There was a stalactite in the cave, just like an old woman. People respected it as the mother of earth, and built a big temple in front of the cave, called the temple of mother of earth. Because of the strong fragrance and the increasing number of tourists, it is very inconvenient to climb the mountain as soon as you get to the bottom of the valley. At the foot of the mountain, a five room temple with wing rooms was built for the Taoist Sanqing, so it was named Sanqing palace. Because shangxuantian cave started from here, it was also called "Ta Jiao Temple". Scholars thought it was too vulgar and changed it to "Ta Jiao Temple".
The origin of history
From a distance, Xuantian cave looks like a mountain with a mouth open; from the inside, it looks like a pot with a back buckle. There is an ancient camphor at the entrance of the cave. It is more than 500 years old and still has luxuriant branches and leaves. This ancient cave has been sleeping in the mountains for hundreds of millions of years. It was not discovered by Sichuan Taoist Banyue (No. Yuetian) until the end of Ming Dynasty. Half a month later, when I saw the cave, I thought it was a good place for cultivation. So I built two small houses in the cave. Because there was no need to shelter from the rain, I only used the bark that was peeled off when building the house to cover the roof, so it was named Mupi nunnery. The half moon Taoist offered the statue of Emperor Xuan in the cave, so the cave was named "Xuantian cave".
Half a month after the beginning of the sermon, Xuantian cave incense day by day, hundreds of miles around people come to incense and listen to the sermon. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, local people raised funds for renovation, and then continued to expand. By the time of the Republic of China, there were more than 3400 square meters of space in the cave, including 5 Jade Emperor hall, 3 Sanguan hall, 9 upper hall, and more than 30 large and small houses, including kitchens and bedrooms. There is a Koizumi at the bottom of the cave, which is introduced into the kitchen with bamboo soap, and can be drunk by hundreds of people. There is a stone couplet at the entrance of the cave. The first couplet is "mysterious and lively", the second couplet is "natural and natural", and the horizontal inscription is "Xuantian cave". In the main hall of the cave, there are two stone barriers about 1 meter high, on which there are flower and bird patterns and stories of immortals and figures. The size of the figure is only a few inches, but the shape is realistic. It is a rare stone carving treasure. There are dozens of stone statues in the cave. The front hall is for the three immortal masters of Taoism: Zhenwu emperor, Li Laojun and Qiu Chuji. The back hall is for the Jade Emperor. On both sides of the Jade Emperor, besides the golden boy and jade girl, there are also four kings with angry eyes, symbolizing wind, tune, rain and shun.
From the end of Ming Dynasty to the period of the Republic of China, it has always been a treasure of Taoism, with constant incense. Some dignitaries also came to visit, and some of them inscribed stone inscriptions on the stone wall above the cave top. These cliff stone inscriptions are still well preserved.
Imprison a famous general
During the Anti Japanese War, great changes suddenly took place here overnight. Taoists disappeared, pilgrims disappeared, and tourists disappeared. Instead, hundreds of armed soldiers, policemen, constitutionalists, special forces and beacon fire replaced the incense fire, and bangs replaced the sound of wooden fish. The holy land of Taoism became a hell on earth. For a time, ghosts were rampant and people and animals were restless. All this happened because of an eternal injustice and a hero.
In October 1938, in the Xi'an Incident, he and general Zhang Xueliang jointly admonished Chiang Kai Shek and forced Chiang Kai Shek to stop the civil war. General Yang Hucheng and his family, who were united in Anti Japanese War, were taken to Xuantian cave and spent eight years in seclusion under the close supervision of hundreds of military and police officers.
In order to commemorate this eternal hero, in 1998, the people's Bank of China sponsored 1 million yuan, and Guiyang Municipal People's government allocated 4 million yuan. Xifeng County Party committee and Xifeng County People's Government of the Communist Party of China were responsible for the construction, and the Xuantian cave prison was repaired. On October 18, 1998, as an important part of the former site of Xifeng concentration camp for patriotism, General Yang Hucheng's prison in xuantiandong was officially opened to the public.
