Temple culture
Lamaling temple is located in a mountain depression surrounded by forests 30 kilometers southeast of Bayi Town, where Linzhi Prefecture is located in Tibet. The golden roof of lamaling temple and the green pines and cypresses complement each other. Around the Sutra hall and monk's house of the temple, chrysanthemums and Gesang flowers of various colors vie with each other. The sound of cymbals, bells and drums, as well as the thick and clear chanting sound reverberate in the valley. Two grey argali sheep "adopted" by Temple lamas from childhood, wearing small bells around their necks, forage on the grass dam of the temple. This ancient temple, built in the late 1930s, is one of the four major sects of Tibetan Buddhism.
The shape of the temple is positive four corners. The eaves on the first floor are 20 corners. The eaves on the second and third floors are octagonal. The Buddha Hall is more than 20 meters high and more than 10 meters in inner diameter. It is covered with a golden roof in the shape of a tower. The four walls are painted in four colors, white, blue, red and green, just like a gem inlaid in green mountains and waters.
The temple is mainly for the statue of master lianhuasheng, founder of Ningma sect, and the Sutra hall is for the statue of Sakyamuni. There are also stone relics of lianhuasheng in the temple, and the exquisite murals in the temple can be regarded as a unique art in eastern Tibet.
In the early Ningma sect of Tibetan Buddhism, lamas including living Buddhas were allowed to have wives. The statues of master lianhuasheng, the founder of the sect, and his two wives are now worshipped in the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. The Gelug Sect, which flourished more than 300 years ago, did not allow lamas to marry, and there were more than 250 rules and regulations.
The former president of the Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences, Tibetan expert hirsuto seren and the famous Tibetan scholar chabai zidanpingcuo believe that the worship of genitalia in Tibetan Buddhist temples has a lot to do with the worship of Bon, the primitive religion in Tibet. Later, the flourishing Ningma sect of Tibetan Buddhism absorbed some of the doctrines of Bon, and worshipped copper and wooden male genitalia in temples to avoid evil spirits and subdue The role of demons. But the male and female genitals are offered at the same time, only lamaling temple.
Lamaling temple is hidden in the dense forest in the mountains, surrounded by clouds, singing birds and fragrant flowers, with a quiet heart, just like a paradise in the world. Compared with other temples in qizang, it has some special features.
