Jiaxing Museum

Jiaxing museum is a comprehensive museum integrating collection, research, exhibition and education. The building area of the museum is 22000 square meters, which began in 1958. The museum was originally located at the intersection of Qinjian road and Hexing road in the urban area. It was later relocated to Haiyantang road in Nanhu District and opened to the public in October 2003. Since October 1, 2004, it has been open for free all the year round.

Jiaxing Museum has a rich collection and a complete structure, which reflects the cultural features of Jiaxing in different periods from different aspects. The two basic exhibitions in the museum, namely "the source of Hexing Jiaxing in prehistoric period" and "fertile land Jiahe Jiaxing in historical period", sort out the whole development process of Jiaxing.

Jiaxing Museum has successively won the honors of advanced unit of Jiaxing patriotic education base, provincial public security and safety demonstration unit, advanced collective of provincial cultural relic system and Zhejiang patriotic education base.

In 2009, it was rated as a national second-class Museum by the State Administration of cultural relics.

Historical evolution

In June 1958, Jiaxing prefectural Party committee and Jiaxing County planned to build Jiaxing Museum.

On December 1, 1958, Jiaxing Central Museum, located in the former site of nandaying County Health Center (now Nanmen vegetable farm), was established and opened to the public.

In 1959, Jiaxing Central Museum was under the jurisdiction of Jiaxing county.

In 1960, it moved to Jiaxing County exhibition hall (the former site of Jiaxing Xiucheng people's Government).

In July 1961, he worked together with Jiaxing County exhibition hall to implement two brands and one team.

In 1962, he moved to the old court site at the intersection of Qinjian road and Hexing road.

In May 1972, it was renamed Jiaxing County Museum.

In 1973, an internal exhibition room for cultural relics was established.

In October 1978, it was renamed Jiaxing Museum.

In November 1978, Jiaxing cultural relics store was established.

In 1980, No. 20, 21 and 22 Lixin road was assigned to Jiaxing Museum as a cultural relic display and store.

In December 1990, the trade union of Jiaxing museum was established.

On June 28, 1993, Jiaxing exhibition company affiliated to Jiaxing museum was officially established.

On October 13, 1993, Jiaxing Museum and the Municipal Office of Cultural Administration jointly worked.

On October 18, 1996, Jiaxing museum was separated from the Municipal Office of cultural administration.

On February 16, 1998, the foundation project of Jiaxing Museum and storehouse started.

In February 1999, Jiaxing Museum facade renovation and decoration project was completed.

On September 18, 2001, the construction of the new Jiaxing Museum in Haiyantang road began.

On September 28, 2002, the new building frame of Jiaxing museum was completed.

On October 28, 2003, the new Jiaxing museum was officially opened to the public.

On April 28, 2004, Jiaxing Museum opened to minors and other related social groups free of charge.

On October 1, 2004, Jiaxing Museum opened to the public free of charge.

In May 2009, Jiaxing museum was rated as a second-class Museum by the State Administration of cultural relics.

Exhibition Profile

overview

The building of Jiaxing museum is shaped like a boat, with some display area, warehouse area and service area. In the exhibition area, Jiaxing in prehistoric period and Jiahe in fertile soil are the sources of Hexing. Jiaxing in historical period is the source of Hezhen, the exhibition hall of famous calligraphers and painters, the fan art exhibition hall, and the temporary exhibition hall.

Basic Display

The source of Hexing -- Jiaxing in prehistoric period

The exhibition covers a total area of 860 square meters. Taking Majiabang, Songze and Liangzhu as the main line, the exhibition adopts projection, animation video and other technical means to arrange the layout and combine cultural relics, pictures, plastic arts and information devices through life scenes, house relics and tomb restoration.

The first part is the preface hall, which shows the six systems of Chinese Archaeology on the map of China by projection, including the distribution of major sites;

The second part shows "the source of Jiangnan culture" - Jiaxing in the period of Majiabang culture, including the naming place of Majiabang culture, the living environment of Majiabang people, the life style of Majiabang people, the beauty of Majiabang people's decoration and the burial customs of Majiabang people;

The third part is "the newly rising sacrificial platform Jiaxing in the period of Songze culture", which focuses on the main distribution areas of Songze cultural sites in Jiaxing, the houses of Songze people, the way of life and the hierarchical differentiation;

The fourth part "towards civilization - Jiaxing in Liangzhu culture period" introduces the brilliance of Jiaxing in Liangzhu culture period, and becomes the sub central area of Liangzhu culture.

Jiahe -- Jiaxing in historical period

Jiahe is rich in soil - the exhibition of Jiaxing in the historical period is divided into six parts: xiushuiruge, Binhai Zeguo, Jiahe fragrance, fanshu Town, prosperous literary style, and Fengyu Nanhu. In the form of cultural relics, plates and scenes, the exhibition has nearly 600 cultural relics, nearly 100 plates and more than 10 scenes. It records in detail Jiaxing's history from Wu Yue period to Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties The process of the development and change of science and technology.

Jiaxing Museum has been deepening the work of free opening in recent years, and has launched a series of cultural relics exhibition and theme exhibition, such as the canal, our mother river, the essence of heaven and earth, the collection of jade articles in the Jiaxing area, the Ming Dynasty biography, the collection of Ming and Qing dynasties calligraphy and painting special exhibition in Jiaxing area. "The most dazzling national style", "archaeological zero distance", "mobile museum" and other five brand projects.

Honors

In December 2012, Jiaxing Museum became one of the second batch of social science popularization demonstration bases in Jiaxing. By 2012, Jiaxing Museum has become a "patriotic education base", "popular science education base", "art education base" and "tourism education base".

On December 13, 2013, the collection of Cultural Relics Series Shujuan Qingfeng Jiaxing Museum Cultural Relics fans and hanmianzhisu Jiaxing Museum Cultural Relics Shen Zengzhi's letters published by Jiaxing Museum and Zhonghua Book company won outstanding works of art and Social Science in the Eighth National Book Design Art Exhibition.

In 2014, the Council of Jiaxing museum was established, marking a solid first step in the corporate governance structure of cultural institutions, and won the award of "best practice of museum free opening - best management innovation" in Zhejiang Province.

In 2014, the two basic exhibitions of Jiaxing Museum, namely "the source of Hexing - Jiaxing in prehistoric period" and "fertile land Jiahe - Jiaxing in historical period", respectively won the excellent prize of the 12th National Museum top ten exhibitions and the excellent prize of Zhejiang Province.

Scientific research achievements

Jiaxing Museum has actively done a good job in the rescue protection of field cultural relics and collection of cultural relics; published the publication of Jiaxing Cultural Expo, published a series of collection books such as Shu Juan Qing Feng, Han Mian Chi Su, Pu Zhu Ying Hua, Hai RI Liu Guang, Ming Qi Zai Dao, and participated in the compilation of Majiabang culture, Jiaxing Museum collection of cultural relics, etc.
