Ganzhou Park
Ganzhou park is located at 64 Wenqing Road, Ganzhou old city. It is the earliest comprehensive park in Ganzhou City, with a total area of 2.97 hectares.
Ganzhou Park was originally the governor's office of Southern Jiangxi Province, which was founded by duyushi Jinze in 1495. In 1665 (the fourth year of Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty), the governor was abolished and changed to Gannan Road Department. In the 23rd year of Kangxi reign, Ding Wei, the governor of Gannan Road, opened the left side of the road to be Zhuyuan. In 1844, Fengtai mountain, urinal, Chunyu Pavilion, Fuqin hall and Yulan LIANLI hall were built in the garden. In the summer of 1933, Ganzhou municipal office opened up the former site of daoshu as Ganzhou Park, which was renamed Zhongzheng Park in 1944. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Ganzhou park.

The ancient trees in the garden are towering, and it is a place for Ganzhou citizens to cool off and do morning exercises. In 1844, Fengtai mountain, urinal, Chunyu Pavilion, Fuqin hall and Yulan LIANLI hall were built in the garden. In the 26th year of Daoguang, Li Benren summarized the scenic spots in the garden as "Twelve sceneries in the garden". That is: big outline step moon, Qujing Shuquan, Xixuan gugui, Beifu Xinzhu, cenxiao Pavilion shadow, villa calligraphy, Tongyuan Mingqin, Baitang Qihe, South Tower painting, Dongli Wenju, linting Yanshuang, Chi Guan Tingyun. Now Ganzhou park has become the main place for citizens to watch, visit, relax and entertain.
Park history
Ganzhou park has a long history. It was originally the governor's office of Southern Jiangxi. It was founded in 1495 by duyushi Jinze. In the summer of 1933, Ganzhou municipal office opened up the former site of the Department as Ganzhou Park, and expanded to the south, covering an area of 2.97 hectares. From 1933 to 1934, the library, the north gate, the rest Pavilion, the Lele Pavilion and the south gate were added. Yu hanmou inscribed "Ganzhou Park" on the south gate. The construction cost (budget) of the park is 13100 yuan (silver yuan), which is shared by Huihe Gongdian, business groups and guild halls. Jingyang jingshe was built in 1936. In 1940, it built inspirational society, new Gannan Museum and other buildings. It was renamed Zhongzheng Park in 1944.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Ganzhou park. There are museums, public education centers (later changed to cultural centers) and other units in the park (later moved out). In June 1955, tea service department was set up. In 1956, Jingyang jingshe was demolished, and the zoo was opened to the public in June 1957. In July 1959, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the liberation of Ganzhou, a new monument was built in the center of the park. In 1960, a tea service department was built in the east of the park, covering an area of 400 square meters, with a single-layer brick and wood structure and an antique building. In December 1987, the building was demolished and a new activity center for veteran cadres in Ganzhou was built. The reconstruction plan of Ganzhou Park was worked out in 1973 and implemented in 1978. By 1983, a number of garden buildings such as bonsai garden, flower exhibition room and Yueyuan garden in Jinghu scenic area had been completed. In terms of layout and architectural form, the traditional methods of Jiangnan classical gardens are adopted.
On May 19, 2001, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government carried out the opening and transformation of Ganzhou Park in accordance with the public opinion. The project was completed on July 1. The transformed park is integrated with the environment, with broad vision, simple level, entertainment and leisure as a whole. It is the first free urban park in Jiangxi Province.
On November 29, 2005, the original zoo was demolished and transformed into a recreational green space. Some green spaces and stone tables and chairs were added, with a total leisure area of nearly 6000 square meters. It was completed at the end of December of the same year.
Tourism characteristics
With beautiful environment and rich historical heritage, the park is a daily resting place for residents. It is adjacent to the ancient city wall of Song Dynasty in Ganzhou and the confluence of Gan, Zhang and Gong rivers.
