Guangdong opera art museum is a Chinese garden style museum with Lingnan style and water town characteristics. It is divided into North and south along the third phase of lizhiwanyong. The south bank is the main museum and antique garden building, which mainly carries the functions of exhibition, performance, education, research and public activities. The north bank is the supporting area for cultural relic restoration, inheritance and protection of Cantonese opera art. Guangdong opera art museum is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou city. It was originally the old city reconstruction plot of Enning Road, adjacent to the south side of the third phase of the lizhiwan project. Guangdong opera art museum is divided into South and North plots. The south bank site is the main site of the museum, which is a traditional Lingnan Garden building. The main building has two floors underground and three floors above the ground. It is mainly used for the museum warehouse, exhibition hall and theater, surrounded by pavilions and other buildings and about 1500 square meters of lake. The North bank site covers an area of about 4600 square meters, mainly for the catering and tea seats and cultural activities room of the museum.

Basic introduction

The project of Guangdong opera art museum was officially launched in March 2012, aiming at the construction of landscape architecture with Lingnan characteristics. At the end of December 2015, the civil structure, equipment installation and landscape construction of the project were completed. The exhibition was completed in early June 2016 and officially opened to the public on June 9.

The Museum covers a total area of 17200 square meters with a building area of 1700 square meters. It is divided into the north and south along the third phase of lizhiwanyong. The architectural form is an antique building complex with Lingnan Garden style. It is equipped with basic exhibition hall, theme exhibition hall, theater, garden scenic area and supporting areas for the inheritance and protection of Cantonese opera art. The garden scenic area is composed of Lingnan Garden style antique buildings. The overall layout is arranged along the cross axis framework, around the central late Sand Lake, and six groups of courtyard space are scattered. The courtyard is connected and relatively independent. The traditional architectural techniques and techniques of "three carving, two molding and one inlay" (wood carving, brick carving, stone carving, gray plastic, ceramic plastic and inlay porcelain) are the decoration highlights.

The garden center of the museum is equipped with an antique stage, which regularly displays Cantonese Opera and Cantonese opera every week to dynamically display the artistic characteristics of Cantonese opera. The basic exhibition hall covers an area of 1900 square meters, with the basic display of "red beans from South China, good music from Guangdong", which focuses on the display of Cantonese opera through various means such as display boards, exhibits, model reproduction and scene restoration, as well as multi-media forms such as somatosensory interaction and touch screen It covers an area of 450 square meters and has 237 seats.

After a brief speech by Vice Mayor Wang Dong, Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua, long Jianhong of the Provincial Department of culture, Gan Xin, director of Publicity Department of the municipal Party committee, Li Ziliu, President of the municipal revitalization Cantonese Opera foundation, and Hong Xiannu, the master of Cantonese opera, held a simple foundation laying ceremony.

"There should have been such a place in Guangzhou for a long time!" Li Ziliu, the old mayor who devoted most of his energy to the revitalization of Cantonese opera after retirement, was very excited. He held the hand of hongxiannv tightly and told his feelings excitedly.

In July 2013, after the planning report, Mayor Chen Jianhua revealed that "everyone agrees to increase the building area, but the latest plan has not been reported. We are going to delimit 10 mu of wasteland across the river." In this regard, Chen Jianhua said that expanding the existing 17 Mu to 27 mu, which is larger than the garden area of central urban areas in Suzhou and Shanghai, can solve the problem of green area and water area.

According to the relevant person in charge of Guangzhou, the construction of the Museum of Cantonese opera art is a great move taken by the municipal Party committee and the municipal government to build a world famous historical and cultural city and promote the development of the cause of Cantonese opera art. In March 2012, the municipal government took the lead in setting up a leading group for the preparation of the Museum of Cantonese opera art, with an office in Liwan District government, and officially launched the preparation of the project.

The project is a key cultural construction project in Guangzhou. Previously, the Guangdong opera art museum, which only announced the construction cost, also announced the functional block division for the first time.

According to reports, the Museum of Cantonese opera art is located in the north of Enning Road, the south of Yuanhe street and the west of duobaofang in Liwan District. It is surrounded by Bahe guild hall, Taihua building, Baoqing Daya, the ancestral residence of Bruce Lee and other historical and cultural buildings. The original Planning Museum covers an area of about 11500 square meters, with a total construction area of about 15000 square meters. As the site of Yueju Opera Hall is located in the construction control zone of historical and cultural block on Enning Road, according to the height limit of 18 meters, the height limit of Yueju Opera Hall was reduced to 15 meters above the ground and the building height was controlled within 18 meters. Soon after, according to the actual needs, the new planning scheme was changed to "the main loft is not higher than 30 meters, the exhibition hall is planned to be 25.1 meters high, and other floors are less than 15 meters.".

Lingnan Garden style is adopted in the architectural style of the museum, which mainly includes seven functional areas

1、 The exhibition area is divided into basic exhibition area and temporary exhibition area. The interior design and exhibition design of the main exhibition hall will use "southern red bean theme", which will be presented from four parts of "wind and rain", "red bean fragrance", "Liyuan Splendor" and "famous five continents". The red boat model is used to describe the representative red boat era in the development of Cantonese opera.

2、 There are two theaters, large and small, in the performance area and theater. The large theater can accommodate 250 people, while the small theater can accommodate 50 people;

3、 It is mainly used for academic research of local Cantonese Opera professionals and academic exchanges with other regional Cantonese Opera related people;

4、 Interactive leisure area, with teahouses, shops, etc;

5、 Administrative area, including office space of administrative departments, office space of associations and art units, etc;

6、 Supporting facilities area, including collection area, security area, equipment area, etc;

7、 Underground parking lot.
