The total length is 4460m < I (Highway Bridge) < / I, 7675m < I (railway bridge) < / I
The upper deck is a highway bridge with a design speed of 60 km / h, and the lower deck is a double track railway with a design speed of 60 km / h
.
Construction process
Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the forerunner of the Chinese revolution, once proposed to build the Yangtze River Bridge in Jiujiang. In his general plan for the founding of the people's Republic of China, he wrote that the grand goal of building a "200000 Li Railway" in China should be realized, so that Jiujiang will become "one of the centers of China's North South Railway". It is a pity that the great man died early and failed to realize this wish in his lifetime
.
In the 1970s, under the care of the leading comrades of the Central Committee, the relevant departments made many surveys and plans to build a steel framed railway and highway bridge in Jiujiang, which is more than 900 meters longer than the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. However, with the suspension of the construction of the Beijing Kowloon Railway, the project was put off
.
On April 4, 1987, with the approval of the State Council, the State Planning Commission issued a document to resume the construction of the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge. By means of fund-raising and state subsidies, the State Planning Commission, the Ministry of railways, the Ministry of communications and the six provinces of Jiangxi, Hubei and Anhui jointly raised 150 million yuan
.
On December 26, 1973, the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge officially started construction
.
On January 16, 1993, Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic
.
On June 1, 1995, the railway bridge of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was officially put into operation
.
On the evening of November 11, 2012, the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was temporarily repaired due to a broken joint, and can only pass motor vehicles of less than 20 tons
.
From June 23, 2015 to December 22, 2018, Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was strengthened. The main contents of the reinforcement and reconstruction project include the overall replacement of the part above the steel beam of the highway main bridge with the steel deck, the increase of the transverse connection and defect repair of the approach bridge, the resurfacing of the whole bridge deck system, the reconstruction of the facilities and pipelines along the highway, the bridgehead tower, the toll station, the maintenance, monitoring center and the company's management room, etc. After the reconstruction, the designed driving speed of the bridge is 60 km / h, and the load standard is upgraded to highway class I
. < I (in April 2016, the reinforcement and reconstruction project of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was officially launched
On January 6, 2019, after more than three years of reinforcement, reconstruction and maintenance, Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic
Bridge location
Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is located at the junction of Jiangxi, Hubei and Anhui provinces in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The bridge connects Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province in the South and Huangmei County in Huanggang City in Hubei Province in the north. It is an important river crossing channel of Beijing Kowloon Railway and national highway G105

bridge design
Bridge structure
Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is composed of main bridge, highway and railway approach bridges on both sides of the north and south sides. The main bridge highway is on the upper layer, with carriageway and sidewalk on both sides outside the three arches; the three arches have carriageway and motorway and sidewalk on the outside of the arch, and the railway is on the lower layer
.
Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is a double deck double track railway highway bridge. Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is 7675 meters long in railway and 4460 meters long in highway, of which the main bridge on the river is 1806 meters long, with 10 piers and 11 steel girders. Regardless of the length and span of 160 meters of ordinary steel truss girder, the main channel is three hole rigid truss and flexible arch with truss height of 16 meters and span of 180 meters. The maximum span of the middle hole is 216 meters and the maximum known height is 32 meters. The steel plate is made of high strength low alloy steel with a maximum thickness of 56 mm. The steel beam members are riveted with high strength bolts with a diameter of 27 mm
.
Design parameters
The main bridge highway of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is located in the upper layer, outside the scope of three arches, with 14 meters wide carriageway and 2 meters wide sidewalks on both sides; in the part of three arches, with 11 meters wide carriageway, 3.75 meters wide motorway and 1 meter wide sidewalk are set outside the arches. The railway is at the lower level, and the distance between two lines is 4.2m.
The design standard of railway bridge is medium live load < I (the pre-stressed box girder is medium-26) < / I; the highway bridge is designed according to qi-20 and checked by hanging-100; the crowd is 3.5 kn / m2. The navigation clearance height is 24.0 meters, the clear width is 160.0 meters, and it is arranged according to three holes. The design intensity of earthquake is 7.
The main bridge of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge has 11 steel girders, all of which are bolted and welded. The main bridge has a total length of 1806.712m, 10 piers in the middle of the river, one abutment on both sides, 1428.444m on the South Bank of the railway approach bridge, 4440.934m on the north bank, and 7676.09m on the railway part. The approach bridge adopts 40m Ballastless sleeper free prestressed concrete simply supported box girder. 2 Box Girders per hole. The south bank approach bridge of the highway approach bridge is 1347.02m long, and the north bank approach bridge is 1306.389m long. The total length of the highway part is 4460.122m, all of which are 40m Prestressed Concrete T-Beams with 8 pieces per hole

Operation
Management and maintenance
As of November 2012, the unit responsible for the maintenance of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is Jiujiang Bridge workshop of Jiujiang Bridge section of Nanchang Railway Bureau
.
traffic flow
As of April 2016, more than 180 pairs of trains passed through the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge every day
.
Construction achievements
Technical problems
The reinforcement and reconstruction of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is the first attempt of the reinforcement and reconstruction of cross river and cross sea highway railway bridges in China. No matter from design to construction, there is no similar experience to draw lessons from. During the construction, there are a large number of trains and ships passing under the operation point, which has the characteristics of high safety risk and great technical difficulty
