Shangyucun crater
It is located in Shangyu village, 5 kilometers northwest of Hebi City, east foot of Taihang. The altitude is 500 meters. On the west side of the crater is a black hill formed by the condensation of volcanic lava. Experts also call it Shangyu village "mantle window". According to textual research, this is an extinct volcano more than three million years ago.
It is said that there are two cranes living here in Hebi. Shangyu village is as famous for its rich mineral resources. There are a lot of quartz, sandstone, barite and diamond near the crater. The mineral resources are estimated to be about 5 billion tons. When the volcano erupted, the magma overflowed from the crater and flowed around, bringing out a lot of red and emerald. According to local people, many people came to the crater long ago to look for treasure.
What the volcano leaves to the earth is not only disaster and destruction, but also green life. Due to the thick ash from the eruption, the nearby stone mountains are covered with exotic flowers and forests, and the earth is covered with green crops. The crater has the beauty of a little red in the green. Experts are studying whether the mantle window will still be active. The crater of Shangyu village in Hebi City is one of the most completely preserved dead craters in China, which has high scientific research and ornamental value.
