Taiping granary, formerly known as qianyisheng granary, was originally opened by Changsha rich businessman Zhu Changlin (great grandfather and uncle of former premier Zhu Hongji) in the late Qing Dynasty. Its facade uses modern western architectural techniques, and the gable practice has obvious local characteristics of Changsha.
