Historical development of Bao'an Palace
According to the records of Tanshui hall, Baoan palace was built in the 10th year of Jiaqing (1805 A.D.) and completed in 10 years. However, according to the records of Baoan palace in Taipei, in the 7th year of Qianlong (1742 A.D.), the Tongan immigrants from Quanzhou came to Taiwan from Baosheng, the great emperor of Tzu Chi palace in Baijiao. At the beginning, it was a wooden temple. Later, the miraculous residents expanded it in the 20th year of Qianlong (1755 A.D.) It took five years to complete; what's more worthy of public research is that the dragon pillar in the main hall of Baoan palace was signed in the 9th year of Jiaqing (1804), which shows that the establishment of Baoan palace was several years earlier than that recorded in the literature. Bao'an palace was rebuilt on a large scale during the period of Japanese occupation. After the restoration, because of the influence of the war, the affairs of the temple became less and less. In 1952, the temporary reorganization committee of Bao'an palace was established by the local officials. In 1957, it was transformed into the Committee of Bao'an palace. With the efforts of the chairman, it began to be rebuilt and built walls and gardens. In 1974, the Committee of Bao'an palace developed into a financial corporation In 1996, the Baosheng culture and education foundation was established, which has made greater contributions to the traditional, art, education and other social aspects.
