Wolong bridge is a single span stone bridge with a total length of 31.46 meters, a width of 5 meters and a height of 5.5 meters. It has a history of hundreds of years and is also the highest bridge in Xitang. Wolong bridge seems simple, but it is also the most majestic in the ancient town of water. The bridge deck is a large stone slab with a dragon carved on it. There is a couplet on the bridge, which says: build a rugged road for hundreds of years and build a bridge for thousands of people. The couplet comes from the legend of Wolong bridge.
According to legend, Wolong bridge was originally a wooden bridge, which was in disrepair for a long time. One day, a bamboo craftsman surnamed Zhu lived by the bridge. When he saw a pregnant woman fall into the water and die, he wanted to rebuild it, but he had no money. He cut off his hair and became a monk. His name was wide and he went to Huayuan for ten years. He accumulated three thousand taels of silver and started construction. When the silver was used up and the stone was still in short supply, the monk died of illness because he was ten years old. At this time, two immortals came to Xitang. They heard that Xitang dried bean curd was very famous. They were full of praise. When they were intoxicated, a piece of dried bean curd fell on the unfinished Wolong bridge, forming the bridge deck. Therefore, the deck of Wolong bridge is a large block.
