Original name
Minqing County passes through the city and flows into Minjiang River. It was once called Meixi County in ancient times. It was named Minqing in the first year of Liang Qianhua in the Five Dynasties (911), which is also known as "Meicheng". In ancient times, plum blossoms were planted in many places in Minqing. The largest stream flowing through the county is called Meixi. The park is named after Taishan Mountain, with beautiful scenery.
historical origin
Taishan stone pagoda was originally built in the Tang Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the 25th year of Jiajing (1546) in the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of 460 years. The tower is 10 meters high, all of which are made of granite. It has 7 hollow floors. The first floor is about 2 meters high. The height of the above 6 floors gradually decreases with the rise of height, and the top floor can only accommodate one person to bend. Tower eaves, brackets and wings, simple and heavy, is an important landmark of Minqing County, but also a witness of historical and cultural city.
In memory of Huang naimo, the national hero, a pavilion was specially built in Minqing County to commemorate Huang naimo, who served as the vice governor of the "Zhiyuan" Navy during the 1894 Sino Japanese naval battle. When he ran out of ammunition, he resolutely rushed to the enemy ship and was unfortunately struck by a torpedo. Deng Shichang (guandai), Huang naimo, and 250 officers and men on board were buried in the sea. Deng Yingchao's inscription: "naimo Pavilion" was hung in it.
