Manbala temple is located on Tuhai mountain in Lasengmiao Town, Hainan District, Wuhai City. It was built in 1790 (in the 55th year of Qianlong). "Manbala" is a Tibetan word, which means "the medical prescription is clear and the hospital is established". Manbala temple is a place specialized in the study of medical religion. It is said that dozens of secret prescriptions of Mongolian medicine have been developed here, which is a holy land of Tibetan Buddhism characterized by Mongolian medicine research. Due to the destruction of the manbala temple during the cultural revolution, the only buildings in the past were the Mahatma hall, the pharmacist pagoda, the Dharma hall and the cave. Later, the government approved and determined the manbala temple as the only place for Gelug (Lamaism) religious activities in Wuhai area. The fourth Xia zhonggalasheng shadri budanbini, with the support of the majority of monks and believers, comprehensively restored the temple, which has begun to take shape. Manbala temple is located in lashengmiao Town, Hainan District, Wuhai City. Manbala monk temple, located on Tuhai mountain, Lasengmiao Town, Hainan District, Wuhai City, was built in 1778 by Gongqi aribuzhai, the first living Buddha of xiazhong. It has a history of 234 years. It mainly runs "manbalalun" (a place for training Mongolian Medicine), and its shape is similar to some temples in Tibet. After a long-term study of Tibetan, Confucian classics and various medical classics, it has achieved high attainments in medicine. "Manbala monk" is a Tibetan word, which means "Yiming Jingyuan" or "Yiming College". The establishment of manbala monk temple had profound historical and practical significance at that time. There was no place to study the doctrines of Yizong in nearly 20 temples built in Etuoke Banner. It is very necessary to establish a special organization for the study of Mongolian and Tibetan medicine. For this reason, we choose the natural geographical conditions of the Alpas mountains, which are rich in a variety of medicinal stones, herbs and the use of mineral water resources in Tuhai mountain: the manbala monk temple was built in a place with abundant water and soil, and it was subordinate to etuokezhao. From then on, Etuokeqi had a temple to study the doctrine of Yizong.
During the heyday of manbala temple, there were nearly 200 lamas, 10 pagodas, more than 170 warehouses and houses, and hundreds of livestock; The temple is famous for its exquisite sculptures and murals, complete instruments, and thousands of scriptures and medical books. It has become one of the most famous temples on the Ordos Plateau, especially for its Tibetan medicine and many famous doctors.
In 1966, during the cultural revolution, the statue of God was smashed and the temple was completely demolished. Once the hundred year old temple was destroyed, the precious cultural relics disappeared, leaving only three incomplete temples as a witness of history. In recent years, Hainan District of Wuhai City has invested 4.34 million yuan to repair manbala monk temple. Up to now, the main hall, pharmacist pagoda, side hall and archway have been rebuilt, the mountain road has been built, the mountain greening has been carried out, and it is planned to apply for AAA scenic spot.
Living Buddha Xia Zhong
Xiazhong (living Buddha) is the highest monk in manbara temple.
