Nanyang people's Park is located in the middle section of Renmin Road, Wancheng District, Nanyang City, a national garden city. Founded in 1958, Nanyang people's Park is an open public leisure place. About the park

Nanyang people's Park, located in the middle of Renmin Road, Wancheng District, Nanyang City, is an open public leisure place. In the park, there is a section of the city wall ruins of the Qing Dynasty. Originally, there was a section of plum blossom village outside it. Later, the KMT government stripped the city wall of Nanyang in order to prepare for the war. The Municipal People's Park, which was founded in 1958, has experienced more than 50 years. Its facilities are aging, hardware is defective, and the landscape is out of date. It can no longer meet the needs of the national agricultural games and livable cities for the landscape environment. Upgrading and fine management of the park has become the top priority of the park work in 2011. Since April 2011, all staff of the park have been working hard to upgrade the park.

Park details

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the city people's Park was established in the northwest corner of the old city. The park was located on the east side of the north end of today's Renmin Road. It used to be a thorny cemetery. In 1965, the Municipal Cultural Center was in charge of building, planting flowers and trees and raising ornamental animals. In 1958, it was transferred to the Construction Department of the Municipal Construction Bureau, and the variety of flowers and trees increased. In 1959, the area expanded to more than 90 mu, taking shape and opening to the outside world. In 1960, it invested 50000 yuan to build three flower houses, one simple animal house, and excavate artificial rivers and lakes. There are more than 500 kinds of flowers and trees, 120000 trees, 23 kinds of ornamental animals, and more than 60 animals. In 1964, it received more than 200000 tourists. In the "Cultural Revolution", two flower houses were destroyed, more than 200 pots of potted plants were destroyed, and trees, flowers and plants were destroyed. After smashing the Jiangqing counter revolutionary group, it has been restored and developed. By 1985, the main facilities include 2 flower houses (440 square meters), 4 Mu flower beds, 1 Zoo (displaying 211 birds of 9 species and 30 mammals of 6 species), children's playground, open-air cinema, swimming pool, etc. In addition, there are flower sales department, buffet, Photo Department, exhibition hall, etc., covering an area of 100000 square meters. There are woody flowers, herbaceous flowers, evergreen trees, hedges, lawns, etc. Later, the government invested in the construction of artificial lakes, rockeries, waterfalls, pavilions, curved bridges, fountains, orange orchards and pebble patterned winding paths, as well as the construction of a Sino Japanese Friendship cherry garden with the site of "wangxiutai" (commonly known as "wangxiutai"). The average annual number of tourists is 840000.

Ruyi Lake Park, also known as Nanyang Sports Park, is located in the south of Nanyang Citizen Service Center at the intersection of Guangwu East Road and Kongming road. There are music fountains, gate courts and other sports facilities in the park.
