Tianjin Tianshi college is a full-time private undergraduate college invested by Tianjin Tianshi Group Co., Ltd. and approved by the Ministry of education in April 2008. Its predecessor was Tianshi vocational and technical college approved by the Ministry of education in July 1999. At present, it is the only private undergraduate college in Tianjin. Under the leadership of the board of directors, the president of Tianjin Tianshi Group Co., Ltd. Mr. Li Jinyuan is the president of the college, and Professor Lu Huansheng, the former vice mayor of Tianjin, is the honorary president of the college.

Tianshi group is a multinational enterprise group involved in retail, tourism, finance, international trade, e-commerce and many other fields, integrating industrial capital, commercial capital and financial capital. Tianshi group's business covers more than 190 countries, has established branches in 110 countries and regions, and has formed strategic alliances with first-class enterprises in more than 20 countries in the world.

On May 12, 2008, after the Wenchuan earthquake, Tianshi Group donated more than 23 million yuan to the earthquake stricken areas. On April 14, 2010, after the Yushu earthquake, Tianshi group responded positively to the call of the state for the first time, donating 2 million yuan and 5 million yuan worth of relief materials. From Wenchuan to Yushu, Tianshi group has donated more than 30 million yuan. Over the years, President Li Jinyuan has devoted a lot of money to education and established or subsidized many educational institutions and individuals in urgent need of help, including some poverty-stricken schools in Tibet and Xinjiang, more than 20 Tianshi Boai primary schools, Tianshi western talent training program, some primary and secondary schools in Cangzhou, Hebei, and Beijing Xingzhi migrant workers' children's school.

Establishing a high-level university has always been an important way for president Li Jinyuan to give back to the society. In the past 11 years, Tianshi group has invested more than 670 million yuan, making the college have a considerable scale, and the overall strength level of software and hardware has been greatly improved. Moreover, based on the college, a Tianshi International University with an area of 4500 mu and a building area of 1.7 million square meters has completed the planning and design.

The aim of Tianjin Tianshi university is to base itself on Tianjin, serve Tianjin, face the whole country and cultivate advanced applied talents. At present, the college has 8 secondary colleges, including school of economics and management, School of electronics and computer, School of foreign languages, School of art and design, School of bioengineering, School of automation, School of business and School of continuing education. At present, there are 12 undergraduate majors in general higher education: Computer Science and technology, electronic information engineering, marketing, financial management, English, art design, animation, human resource management, labor and social security, automation, communication engineering and Bioengineering; 12 Higher Vocational Majors: marketing, e-commerce, business administration, computer network technology and computer science Application technology, electronic information engineering technology, communication technology, business English, international trade practice, foreign tourism, computer art design, film and television animation. There are 160500 square meters of school buildings, including 100600 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms and 48700 square meters of student apartments. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 37.9614 million yuan. There are 47 experimental and training rooms, 31 multimedia classrooms and 7 voice rooms. The library has 340000 paper books and 350000 e-books. The college has a standard track and field stadium with a 400 meter plastic track, a sports center (a 25 × 50 meter standard swimming pool on the first floor and a comprehensive sports hall on the second floor), a gymnasium, and basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.
