Nanxu College of Jiangsu University of science and technology, established in 2002, is a private secondary college at the undergraduate level set up by Jiangsu University of science and technology in accordance with the new mechanism and mode. In May 2005, it was changed into an independent college with the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China in accordance with the spirit of the document No. 2003 [8] issued by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. The college uses the South Campus of Jiangsu University of science and technology independently, covering an area of nearly 300 mu. The campus is located in the central area of Nanxu new town, Zhenjiang City, with Nanshan scenic spot of talent and culture in the East and Runyang Yangtze River Bridge in the West. The campus with complete teaching and living facilities, beautiful environment, convenient transportation, garden style and ecological type is the preferred place for further study.

The college adheres to the concept of "wide caliber, thick foundation, heavy application, innovation and strong ability" and takes high starting point, high quality, accurate positioning and distinctive characteristics as the guiding ideology to actively explore a new talent training mode. Relying on the discipline foundation of Jiangsu University of science and technology, the college sets up majors according to the development trend of modern science and technology and the needs of local economic and social development.
