The predecessor of Guangdong foreign language and art vocational college is Guangdong foreign language normal school and Guangdong Art normal school. Guangdong foreign language normal school was established in December 1978. Guangdong Art normal school was established in June 1983. In December 2001, Guangdong Normal University of Arts was incorporated into Guangdong Vocational College of foreign languages with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government.
