Xinjiang Agricultural University

Xinjiang Agricultural University is a multi-disciplinary Agricultural University in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. On August 1, 1952, under the kind care of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, General Wang Zhen founded Bayi Agricultural College on the basis of the former second Infantry School of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. On April 21, 1995, the school was renamed Xinjiang Agricultural University. In the past 60 years, Xinjiang Agricultural University has been rooted in the fertile land of Xinjiang, and has been working hard and forging ahead. At present, the university has developed into a multi-level and multi specification school running system with undergraduate education as the main body, post doctoral research mobile station, doctoral and postgraduate education, continuing education, international student education, etc. at present, there are more than 21500 students, 16000 undergraduates and 2000 doctoral and postgraduate students. There are 1613 teaching staff and 892 full-time teachers. Among the teachers, 122 have doctor's degree and 384 have master's degree. There are 106 professors and 291 associate professors. Among them, 29 are entitled to special government subsidies from the State Council, 2 are the first and second level personnel of the first batch of national ten million talent project, 2 are the new century ten million talent project, 6 are senior experts from the Ministry of agriculture, 2 are scientists from the national modern agricultural industrial technology system, 8 are national model teachers and excellent teachers, 4 are members of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of education, and 12 are outstanding experts with outstanding contributions from the autonomous region, There are 7 famous teachers in the autonomous region. The school has 17 colleges and two teaching departments. The disciplines cover eight disciplines, including agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, arts and law. There are 1 national key discipline of prataculture science, 1 national key cultivation discipline, 1 national key discipline of ministries and commissions and cotton Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of education, 10 autonomous region level key disciplines and 1 autonomous region level key cultivation discipline, and 1 autonomous region key laboratory. There are 5 post doctoral research mobile stations, 16 doctoral degree authorization points, 72 master's degree authorization points, 4 professional master's degree authorization points and 12 professional master's degree fields of agricultural extension. 57 undergraduate majors. We have built one national experimental teaching demonstration center, five autonomous regional experimental teaching demonstration centers, 11 key industries of the autonomous region in short supply of talents, and three excellent teaching teams of the autonomous region. We have won nine awards for teaching achievements of the autonomous region. The school headquarters covers an area of more than 1500 mu, the campus environment is elegant and quiet, with a school building area of 418000 square meters, more than 4600 hectares of practice forest farm, more than 260 hectares of experimental farm, 178 practice fields (factories) and off campus production practice base. The library has a collection of 1.4 million books. Since the 10th five year plan, the university has won 43 science and technology progress awards at provincial, ministerial and above levels, including 4 second prizes of national science and technology progress award, 1 special prize of autonomous region science and technology progress award, 5 first prizes, 19 second prizes and 14 third prizes. During the 11th Five Year Plan period, he presided over and completed the national science and technology support program "research and development and demonstration of key technologies for the development of characteristic forest and fruit industry around Tarim Basin" and "research and demonstration of agricultural water saving technology in arid oasis". The university has established cooperative relations with more than 20 universities and academic institutions in more than 10 countries, including the United States, Japan, Finland, Australia and Russia. In recent years, the university has won the National May 1st Labor Award; the national advanced unit of Party building and ideological education in Colleges and universities; the national advanced collective of ethnic education with excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation; the national advanced collective of open factory affairs; the National Women's civilized post; the autonomous regional civilized unit; the Xinjiang Award for development and construction of the autonomous region; the autonomous regional advanced collective of Ideological and political education for college students; and the national advanced collective of open factory affairs for 17 consecutive years National College and secondary school students summer "three rural" advanced units of social practice activities and many other honors.
