Tianjin Agricultural College was founded in 1976. In 2002, with the approval of Tianjin municipal government, Tianjin urban and rural economic school was incorporated into Tianjin Agricultural University. In 1982, he was authorized to confer a bachelor's degree and in 2006, he was authorized to confer a master's degree. In 1996, it was the first batch to pass the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of education, and in 2007, it was awarded "excellent" in the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education. The school takes agriculture as the main body and advantage, with the coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, management, science, economics and literature. The school has two campuses, East and West, covering an area of 1049 Mu and a building area of 300000 square meters. There are modern teaching building, experimental building, library, network center, sports venues and other facilities. At present, there are more than 12000 students.
