Jining university is a provincial full-time regular undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education in March 2007. It was founded in 1951, formerly known as Jining Teachers College. In November 2008, Qufu Normal School, which was founded in 1905, was incorporated into the whole system. The campus is located in the hometown of Confucius, the great thinker, educator and sage in ancient China, the birthplace of Confucian culture and the world famous historical and cultural city Qufu.
