Hebei Normal University of science and technology is a provincial university with the right to confer master's degree. The predecessor of the University was founded in 1941. In 1975, it began to hold higher education. In 1977, it began to recruit undergraduates. In 2006, it obtained the right to confer a master's degree. The school is one of the first batch of key construction bases for vocational teacher training of the Ministry of education, the modern agricultural technology training base of the Ministry of agriculture, the entrepreneurship training base for national science and technology commissioners, the vocational education research base of Hebei Province, the intangible cultural heritage research base of Hebei Province, and the first batch of national popular science education base of China Association for science and technology. There are Qinhuangdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences, National Science and technology infrastructure platform Domestic Animal Germplasm resources platform, Jidong culture research center and new rural development research center.

The school is located in the coastal city of Qinhuangdao. There are three campuses: Qinhuangdao campus, Development Zone campus and Changli campus. The campus covers an area of more than 1400 mu, with a construction area of 570000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 173 million yuan, with a collection of more than 1.67 million books and literatures. There are more than 1300 full-time teaching and scientific research personnel, including more than 600 professors and associate professors, 920 doctoral and master's degree teachers, and 10 national and provincial experts.

The university has a graduate department and 18 colleges (departments), namely, College of animal science and technology, College of life science and technology, College of horticulture science and technology, College of urban construction, College of chemical engineering, College of mechanical and electrical engineering, College of food science and technology, College of mathematics and information technology, Department of physics, College of foreign languages, College of grammar and law, College of education, Department of physical education, College of Finance and economics, College of business administration, School of art College, ideological and political theory teaching department, College of continuing education. There are analysis and testing center, network and modern education technology center, Vocational Education Research Institute and journal editorial department. There are 59 undergraduate majors, covering nine disciplines such as agriculture, science, engineering, arts, law, education, economy, management and art. They are open to enrollment in 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government), with 23000 students.

The university has three first-class disciplines of master's degree, including biology, horticulture, chemical engineering and technology, 21 second-class discipline authorization points, four professional degrees, including agricultural master's degree, education master's degree, veterinary master's degree and engineering master's degree, and 13 authorization points in authorized fields. It also has the right to grant master's degree to vocational school teachers.

The university has 7 provincial key disciplines and key development disciplines, 4 provincial key laboratories (Engineering Technology Research Center), 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 2 national fruit and vegetable processing technology research and development sub centers, as well as provincial and ministerial industrial technology innovation alliance, provincial university application technology research and development center, provincial academician workstation and 7 municipal key laboratories (Engineering Technology Research Center) . 1 national certified electronic biological Herbarium.

There are three provincial undergraduate education innovation Highlands, six provincial brand specialty, one national excellent course and nine provincial excellent courses. It has won one national teaching achievement award and 32 provincial teaching achievement awards.

The university has established cooperation with more than 20 foreign universities and scientific research institutions in science and technology education. The Italian language training and testing center has been established in cooperation with Perugia foreign university.

In the past three years, students have won more than 200 awards at or above the provincial level in the National College Students' Challenge Cup, mathematical modeling, English contest, subject contest and other competitions. The employment rate of graduates has been more than 90% for many years.
