South China Agricultural University

South China Agricultural University is a national key university and a "211 Project" University jointly built by Guangdong Province and the Ministry of agriculture. In June 2015, the University was selected as a key construction University of high-level universities in Guangdong Province. The campus is located in Guangzhou, which is known as "Flower City", covering an area of 8269 mu, including 4406 mu of Tianhe Wushan headquarters and 3863 mu of Zengcheng teaching and research base. The long history of the school can be traced back to the agricultural experimental farm and attached agricultural workshop in Guangdong Province, which was founded in 1909. In 1952, during the adjustment of colleges and departments in Colleges and universities across the country, South China Agricultural College was established by merging the Agricultural College of Sun Yat sen University, the Agricultural College of Lingnan University and the Department of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine and the Department of diseases and insect pests in the Agricultural College of Guangxi University, which was under the charge of the Ministry of agriculture. Chairman Mao Zedong wrote the name of the college himself. In 1984, it was renamed South China Agricultural University.
