Xinhua College of Ningxia University, founded in March 2002, is one of the first independent colleges approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is a full-time undergraduate college run by Ningxia University in accordance with the new system and mode. In December 2007, the Department of education of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Ningxia University jointly built Xinhua college.

The college is located in Yinchuan, a famous historical and cultural city in the west of Saishang, adjacent to Ningxia University. The college covers an area of about 500 mu, with a building area of nearly 100000 square meters for teaching and administration. It has two comprehensive stadiums, one sports center, more than 20 teaching computer classrooms, multimedia classrooms and voice rooms, and two book reading centers.

Relying on the abundant resources of Ningxia University and according to the needs of local economic and social development, the college now has 19 undergraduate majors in six disciplines, including literature, engineering, science, management, law and economics. The college enrolls students from 18 provinces and autonomous regions in China, and has more than 4000 full-time undergraduate students. The college is a four-year undergraduate course. After the students have completed their studies and passed the examination, they will be awarded a diploma by the college. Since 2008, students who meet the requirements of bachelor's degree award will be awarded bachelor's degree certificate with the seal of the college.

The college always adheres to the central position of teaching work and selects teachers with high standards. There are 265 full-time teachers in the college, of which more than 60% have the title of deputy senior officer or above, and 57% have the degree of master degree or above. The structure of teaching staff tends to be perfect, which effectively ensures the quality of education and teaching.

Since the founding of the college, in accordance with the requirements of "relying on Nanjing University, integrating resources, innovating mechanism and highlighting characteristics", the college has adhered to the school running idea of taking teaching quality as the center, taking students as the main body and cultivating high-level specialized talents to meet the needs of society as the lifeline. In personnel training, we should pay attention to the educational concept of "combining scientific spirit with humanistic spirit, combining thick foundation with heavy practice". Promote the continuous improvement of education and teaching quality. The students have won many awards in a series of scientific, cultural and sports activities, such as the National College Students' mathematical modeling contest, "CCTV Cup" National English speech contest and the national young singers contest. The employment rate of graduates in 2006 and 2007 has remained above 97%.

The College strives to be in line with the international advanced talent training mode, and actively carries out international academic exchanges and cooperation. At present, our college has signed cooperation agreements with Anglia Ruskin University in the UK and national Saxon University in the Netherlands. Outstanding students of our college can go to relevant cooperative colleges for further study. At the same time, in 2008, according to the results of the college entrance examination, 5% of the students enrolled in various majors were sent to Ningxia University for further study.

According to the overall planning and requirements, the future development goal is to build Xinhua College of Ningxia University into an independent college with high level and distinctive characteristics in the western region!
