The college is located in Songshan Lake National High tech Industrial Development Zone, with a total campus area of 620000 square meters, a building area of 339500 square meters, and an experiment and training site of 89000 square meters. The existing fixed assets are 1.336 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching equipment is 138 million yuan. The library has over 730000 paper books, 58 kinds of Chinese newspapers, 1384 kinds of Chinese periodicals, 33 kinds of imported newspapers, and 7000gb e-books. It has built a campus network with 10 Gigabit backbone, Gigabit access, and 100 Gigabit to the desktop.

At present, the college has more than 9600 ordinary full-time students, nearly 5000 students of all kinds of adult education and self-taught examination, 632 teaching staff, including 447 full-time teachers, 158 senior professional titles, 40 doctors and 106 assessors. There are 2 excellent teachers in southern Guangdong, 2 provincial technical experts, 2 provincial excellent young teachers training objects and 2 provincial high-level skilled part-time teachers, forming a teacher team with reasonable professional title, education background, age and gender structure.

According to the trend of regional economic and social development, the college formulates the development plan, establishes the dynamic adjustment mechanism of talent demand prediction and specialty setting, and sets up nine major related majors or specialty groups, including manufacturing and electronic information, around the pillar, characteristic and strategic emerging industries of Dongguan, such as advanced manufacturing industry and modern service industry There are 34 majors, such as surgery and preschool education. There are 2 higher vocational construction majors supported by central finance, 2 higher vocational undergraduate collaborative education majors, 9 provincial higher vocational education reform projects, 5 provincial key majors, 3 provincial excellent resource sharing courses, 3 provincial training bases, and 2 provincial college students' off campus practice bases.

According to the characteristics of Dongguan's economic and social development and the law of higher vocational education, the college strengthens the integration of teaching, production, service and application, and innovates and practices the school running mode of "government school industry enterprise cooperation, learning, production and taking in one". The school of architecture of Dongguan Polytechnic College is jointly built with enterprises and institutions in accordance with the mixed ownership mode; modern apprenticeship personnel training is carried out with Huawei, NXP and other enterprises; order personnel training is carried out with Dongguan CITS, Dongguan rail transit group and other enterprises. At present, the college has set up a mixed ownership industry college, four modern apprenticeship classes and 21 order classes.

From 2014 to 2016, the enrollment rate of freshmen ranked first in the province, and the employment rate of graduates exceeded 99.40%, ranking first in the province. In 2014, the college was approved by the Provincial Department of education as a "3 + 2" pilot college for the cultivation of application-oriented talents from junior college to undergraduate. It has become a pilot of collaborative undergraduate education in Guangdong Province and has carried out collaborative undergraduate training with Dongguan Institute of technology and Shaoguan University. At present, the college has trained nearly 10000 full-time graduates, and the employment rate of graduates remains above 99%, which is welcomed by employers.

The college gives full play to the advantages of human resources and technology, and constantly enhances the ability of science and technology services. Dongguan vocational and Technical Education Development Research Association and Dongguan Federation of Social Sciences Branch of Dongguan vocational and technical college were established. In recent years, the college has won 208 municipal level projects, 1 provincial science and technology award, 1 Provincial Agricultural Technology Promotion Award, 4 national industry standards, 2 enterprise science and technology commissioners from Guangdong Province, 4 technology R & D and service centers and 1 social development consultation and service center, 5 invention patents, 152 authorized patents and 33 copyrights.

The college attaches great importance to foreign cooperation and exchange, and has signed cooperation agreements with universities abroad and in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Five secondary and higher vocational colleges in underdeveloped areas such as Eastern, Western and western Guangdong are supported, and Xinjiang teaching base is set up in Tumushuke, Xinjiang. The college has strengthened cooperation with the government, industry and enterprises, established cooperative relations with 350 enterprises, explored nine school enterprise cooperation modes, led the establishment of Dongguan vocational education "government school industry enterprise" Collaborative Education Steering Committee and five vocational education alliances (groups), and established 108 stable off campus practice bases. The college, together with Dongguan City and towns and streets, has implemented the plan of strengthening the town by specialty. It can identify 29 types of work, with an average annual training of nearly 10000 people.
