Anshun university is a public comprehensive full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education in 2006. Its history can be traced back to Qianjiang normal school established in 1938, with a history of nearly 80 years. In 2016, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of education.

The school is located in Anshun City, Guizhou Province, 40 kilometers east of the famous Huangguoshu waterfall. The campus covers an area of 1113 mu, with 108800 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms, 50100 square meters of student dormitories, more than 570000 paper books, 13 electronic resource databases, and more than 90 off campus practice and training bases.

The University adheres to open education, actively carries out inter school exchanges and cooperation, and explores to promote the process of internationalization. It has established cooperative relations in teaching, scientific research and postgraduate education with foreign universities such as South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand, as well as domestic universities such as Qingdao University, Wuhan University of technology, China University of petroleum and Guizhou University.
