Hefei Normal University is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, which is the hometown of Baogong and one of the four major science and education base cities in China. It is a provincial full-time regular undergraduate college.

The campus of the college covers an area of 603 mu, with a building area of 285000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 36.54 million yuan. There are 3 public teaching experimental centers and 10 comprehensive laboratories for computer, speech and teacher skills training. It has 836300 paper books, 410000 e-books, 1419 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and 6 Chinese and foreign databases.

For a long time, the college has focused on undergraduate education, forming a discipline system with humanities and science as the backbone and coordinated development of economics, management, arts, science, engineering and other disciplines. There are 12 departments of Chinese, politics, law and management, education, economy, foreign language, fine arts, music, mathematics, chemistry and chemical engineering, life science, physics and electronic engineering, computer science and technology, and 3 public basic courses teaching departments of physical education, College English, and Modern Educational Technology Center. At present, there are 24 undergraduate majors, 30 junior college majors and 9038 full-time students.

At present, there are 356 full-time teachers, including 31 professors, 86 associate professors, and 45 PhD students. Among the teachers, there are 7 special subsidies from the State Council and the provincial government, 1 distinguished professor of Wanjiang scholars, 4 provincial academic and technological leaders, 5 provincial university discipline leaders and young and middle-aged backbone teachers, 13 national and provincial excellent teachers, and 14 doctoral and master's supervisors of key universities in the province.

The college has two research centers of teacher education and Chinese poetics, and eight research institutes of ancient books, basic mathematics, coordination chemistry, Hui Style print art, translation, educational science, Sinicization of Marxism and Chinese painting art. It has comparative advantages in Chinese poetics, distance geometry, Ancient Books Collation and other aspects; foreign education history, coordination chemistry and other aspects are at the leading level in the province.

The college insists on taking teaching as the center and educating people as the foundation, constantly reforms the talent training mode, optimizes the curriculum system, and strengthens the cultivation of students' practical ability. The quality of talent training has been widely recognized and praised by the society. In the past five years, the employment rate of graduates is more than 98%, and has been rated as the "advanced collective of employment work for college graduates in Anhui Province" for four times. In 2005 and 2007, it has won the honorary titles of "excellent team of national college students' social practice activities" and "advanced collective of Ideological and political education work for college students in Anhui Province". In 2005, it was awarded the title of "national advanced unit of spiritual civilization construction" and the title of "civilized unit" in the sixth, seventh and eighth sessions of Anhui Province.

During the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, the college will be based in Anhui and face the grass-roots level. With the goal of cultivating new teachers and other applied senior professionals with "solid foundation, broad knowledge, strong ability and high quality", the college will strive to build Hefei Normal University into an ordinary undergraduate college with certain influence inside and outside the province, and make new contributions to prospering Anhui through science and education and promoting the rise of Anhui.
